I have recently been granted this for a relative and so have had to send these to the various bodies to confirm the investments held.
I worded the letter carefully asking then to confirm the investments my relative holds.
The confirmations were returned but in 2 of the cases the full details were missing.
I have had to contact these organisations to correct them.
They apologised and said they would send out another letter confirming the full details of the investments held.
Is this normal? Surely they should have complete records for each investor?? I was told that I would need to inform them of the investments held and only then will they be able to confirm the holding?
Are they doing it on purpose or is their record keeping abysmal?
I am just a bit suspicious.
Anyone had experience of this?

It would depend what you mean by "full details", which may differ from what the provider means.
It might be easiest just to ask for an up to date statement of holdings. Once you have received that, you can decide what else you need and ask for it then.I am an Independent Financial Adviser. Sorry should have made myself clear. The details of the second investment were competely missing even though in each case I 'd asked for full details of every investment held at the provider.
Luckily I had paper copies of transactions issued so could check this but if I hadn't I would have been unable to confirm this.0
