Thursday 7th July - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

PF thank you. Plans are ongoing but I must admit I am struggling too with having a small baby to try and work around. Today started at 4 with feeds that didnt end & then DS was up at 5am anyway. He isnt one to fall back to sleep once up for the day so we (OH and I) are both exhausted. It's hard to try and get anything done in that mindset.
I suspect I am going to have to get some sort of work evenings and weekends as I try to develop the shop into a revenue stream and not a liability. This time of year it goes dead as everyone takes breaks so less leads to chase. But come September it will ramp up through to December so I have to hit the promotion now really. Anyway bet you wish you hadnt asked now :)

    Hi to all,
Not much money saving activity today, but there again, it's been an NSD, so that's something. I've pretty much kept the faith:
*Picked fresh herbs from the garden to use with dinner tonight.
*Used up the last of May's fresh fish order.....just some fairly small pieces of hake left, so defrosted those & am making something which will stretch those into a decent meal for the two of us.
*Made some garlic pickle using some of our homegrown garlic. All recycled jars & lids from my stash, of course!
*Watered greenhouse veggies. STILL haven't found the rogue snail. Torchlight search tonight. It's causing a lot of damage & I can see from the silvery trails that it's a big one. I should think so....it's full of my bloody plants!!
*Moved some cash around to keep budgets straight & updated the grocery budget as I didn't finish this yesterday.
*Kniitted some more sock. I need to get these finished & cast on my next project which will be one of at least 3 Christmas presents I'm planning to knit.
*All free leisure today - read the Guardian online instead of buying one, watched a recorded TV prog, read a magazine that was given to me & updated my blog.
OK, cat is telling me he's about to expire, so am off to look at the state of his bowl.

    Hi July Joculants,

    Thanks for the starter PF.

On balance today has been positive. :D
Celebrating with just an inch of Soplica on the rocks.

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * Work an 8 hour shift. Some tricky moments but I survived.

    * Took a packed lunch. Didn't eat the mini choccy bar so I will have that tomorrow.

    * Won a £10 voucher in the random RMSurveys monthly draw. :D

    * Unsubscribed from a few junk emails.

    * Made ice cubes from hot water. (Link)

    How about you folks?

    Evening all :)
Thanks for the start PF :)

    Today I have:
Blitzed the house (OH helped :D)
Dried a load of washing outside on the line :)
Walked into town for free exercise / avoid using fuel :)
Posted an ebay sale - nothing sold yet today though
Picked up some bits of shopping in Iceland, Savers and the local cheap shops - then had to pop into Waitrose to get Dijon mustard which none of them stocked :rotfl:
Picked up some free papers / advertising blurb thingies from Savers and Waitrose to use as free packaging :D
Walked dog for yet more free exercise :rotfl:
HM meals, many of the ingredients were home grown too - strawberries with breakfast cereal, potatoes, mangetout, courgettes, garlic, chillies, trout that OH caught for dinner, rhubarb pie for afters :D

    Still to do:
See what needs watering in the front garden (it keeps threatening to rain, but doesn't, if that makes sense!)
    Clear up kitchen after dinner
Try out new phone which is now charged up as per instructions
    Pay milk bill online

Better get on, as I would like an early night after all that housework I think!

So a long day but loads of positive stuff. OH worked from home and looked after DD whilst she napped this afternoon so DS and I went swimming. They dont charge for under 18s in our borough so just me to pay. It was such a nice bit of me time as he can swim fine so I got a few laps in. We cycled there and back so no bus fees either.

Had a meeting this morning which was really uplifting & set me on a good path for the day.

Right off for a bit of netflix & flopping on the sofa.

    Night
