Disabled bus pass, how does it work?

((Sorry if this is in the wrong place!))
Recently I got a disabled bus pass for my autism and so far I haven't been told much about it
I understand that with the card I have I can get myself and a career on for free but is there any limits? like any distance restrictions?
If I traveled from Glasgow to Edinburgh is that too far? or if I booked a travel coach to somewhere in England does that count?
any extra info would be very appreciated!
Thanks!

Have a look here

Your pass needs to have a symbol on it to allow a companion to travel for free with you. Not all disabled cards have these. There is a picture of this if you look at the link above.0
