Default on Credit File from PRA

Just wondering is anyone has any experience of this or can offer any advise?
I checked my credit file today and I have two defaults listed on it, 1 to MBNA for a CC that defaulted in Feburary 2012 and then the same Debt transferred to Aktiv Capital (now PRA Group) who have listed a default in October 2012 for the same debt.
The terms of repayment state £56 per month which I have been making as advised by MBNA but for some reason PRA mark the payment each month as a default.
Does anyone know why this is and how I can get rid of it (if I even can) or is it simply being reported as a continuation of the MBNA default and will drop off my file in 18 months?
Thanks.

Thanks.
Yes, it looks like MBNA have sold your debt to PRA group.
If that's the case, they become the new creditor, and report your accounts status as appropriate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I thought you couldn't have two defaults for the same debt?

The OP says there are two defaults listed."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

MBNA should ceace reporting the account, there entry should disappear once updated.
The new default should have the original account default date on it.
If it dosent, then the OP needs to put in a complaint about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3172602CRA Defaults - Recording of defaults relating to debts that have been sold.
The practice of selling/buying debts is widely used. As long as the information is correctly recorded on a credit file by the lender selling the debt and the lender buying the debt, then two entries relating to one account would not be considered to be a breach of the Data Protection Act provided that:-- both recorded entries are shown as being in relation to the same account/debt;
- the original debt entry should be shown on the credit file as being either ‘settled' or ‘zero' balance and should show that the debt has been ‘re-assigned’;
- the new DC who shows the debt in their name should maintain the original default date and the correct balances;
- the retention period for maintaining the information on a credit file should be based on the original default date regardless of who is responsible for the entry/debt.
