2 Year Fixed Mortgage

Having contacted an independent broker for a 2 year fixed mortgage deal without any set up fees on a 15 year term, L&C came back with Santander and Barclays as most favourable at 1.79% and 1.89% respectively. As you may know Santander offer a 1% monthly cash back on the mortgage payment if you hold their 123 account.

We’re advised that there are no set up costs for the Santander offer but there is an exit fee of £225, There’s a mere £35 setup fee for Barclays but only an £80 exit fee. We considered HSBC but apparently they take longer than anyone else to get the mortgage approved and underway. We want to move quickly on this

I cannot seem to find the Barclays offer coming up on the MSE website as a consideration, can anyone please advise why not.

Because they are not paying MSE to feature like the other Lenders on the system.

Why would you need it to come up if the broker you are using has found it for you, I assume they provided you with a KFI?

  • Thought it wise to have it checked out and confirmed by MSE. I was also testing if all lenders are considered by MSE. Yes we had the KFI

You are going to get more information in the KFI than any comparison website or engine will give you.
