I buy the above for my getting elderly Dad to use when my Mum is away. They work well for him and helps me make sure that he is eating correctly. However I saw these today in the pound shop

If I was to buy the normal 1kg bags of frozen veg such as sweetcorn, Carrots, cauliflower and broccoli and then popped them into these bags would they work the same do you think? Id work quickly so the veg wouldn't defrost but would have to freeze the bags with the contents. Would it be as simple as that or would I need to do anything else to the vegetables? I usually use a hob steamer myself so am unsure This would save me cost wise im sure but also for me to remember to buy the Bird Eye ones.

I think it would work. You could always try a batch yourself first to see how it goes.
