I got my statement for cc1 today and for the first time in forever the balance is 0.
0!!!!!!
When I get paid I will clear my spending card. There's about £250 on that but my dad owes me some of it.
So hopefully on pay day which is the last day of the month all my official debt will be clear
Then it's just a case of paying back what I took from our savings.May 2015: £11685.56 / November 2017: £2076

Thanks guys. I can't believe after all these years that that card is actually clear. It's always been the card with a balance transfer on it because it always offers 0% interest.

Hubby got paid today! That's £900 in our joint account
We had £100 left this month so we are using it to buy bits for the new home.
We haven't been getting all our bills yet as we only moved in June and it's a new build.
I keep chasing our council tax because I want to know what it's going to cost us.
Each month I have put aside £200 to cover council tax, electricity and gas but I realise now that won't be enough.
Our gas bill was covered in our flat by the management company.
Our electricity bill was £35 a month and our council tax was just under £150 a month but I think in our house it's all going to be a lot more.
What is the average cost for gas and electricity per month for a small three bed semi?
I'm hoping our council tax will be £150 a month still but going by what the other houses pay it's likely to be £200
So today and from now on I'm going to put £300 aside each month.
We have £600 put aside so far and I'm about to tot it up to £900 which is better than nothing. This is very sensible of me. The old me would enjoy spending the extra money and then get stuffed when the big bill comes in!

Have you looked online to see if you can find what council tax band you are? Most council websites will give you that information, unless it's too much of a new build and it hasn't been updated yet!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

Hi MrsSave! Unfortunately it's too much of a new build they haven't even valued it yet I check online everyday and argued with my council until they realised ey hadn't dont their job properly. Finally an application has been put through to value it so I'm hoping to hear something soon.
There's lots of houses in my development and they haven't done any down my road.May 2015: £11685.56 / November 2017: £2076

How frustrating! I guess all you can do is look at a similar size house nearby and find out what council banding that has to give you a rough idea. I'm guessing the council will still expect back pay though!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

That is very frustrating about the council tax, I pay £129 for council tax on a three bedroom house and about £80 a month on gas and electricity xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050

It's really frustrating because I just want to be paying it. The council have told me I can set up an online account and start paying it but I don't know what to pay.
I've just been looking online at other properties near me and they are all band E which is £2000 a year
That's so much money and my house is only small.
My best friend lives in an older house very close by and is band D. Her house is bigger than mine so mine shouldn't cost more.
I hate not knowing.May 2015: £11685.56 / November 2017: £2076
