Morning everyone,
I was kept going in work yesterday and dashed home to enjoy a game of badminton. Afterwards it was a chilled one spent on comparison sites for my car insurance - which I'll finish off tonight.
I'm not too sure what the plan is for tonight, hopefully a little more exercise and another early night.
JackieO - Good luck tonight.
Lainey - Fingers crossed the new gaffer is able to keep a lid on it. I've been in your position before and it's not enjoyable. Ended up hating my workplace.
Gers - Be sure to pack your new jumper!
Have a nice day everybody.0 -
Morning all,
Nice bright day here with a good breeze I have a load in the wm and will get it on the line after this.
Day off today and I think I am going to make a trip to Aldi which is quite a trek away, but the store cupboard really needs filling things like tinned tomatoes and pulses are running low. DD will come with me and we might find somewhere for lunch while we are out. Good news is they are building an Aldi in the next town soon so not so far to travel.
My new manager is coming in to meet me tomorrow as I am off next week when she starts, she wants to come and run through some things and see how we do things, I hope I get on ok with her as we will be working closely together !
Lemon and garlic chicken breast for dinner tonight with rice and peas, and I need to have a quick hoover through.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone and thanks Hester for starting us off . I am sorry to read of your L&Ms continuing problems with work . Is he feeling any better ? though I imagine the present situation is not helping at all . The sooner you can downsize the better . Look after yourself love x
Dear Lyn I for one would miss you so much on the preppers thread . I agree a break would be good , I took one myself during the height of the vote debate . I had made up my my mind and never changed my vote . Things were becoming very heated so I stepped back for a bit .
Like yourself I respect every view even if I disagree . I struggle with one poster on there who does raise my Irish temper but I think of my mums advice " save your breath to cool your porridge " You don't have to keep everyone happy , we all have low days , lord knows I've done my share of online moaning ! Put those feet up love tomorrow is another day x
Gers I hope the spray helps sinus problems are pretty difficult to sort . Loving the sound of the watermelon top , at least if you get lost in the undergrowth you'll be easy to spot !
AOD Hoping today isn't too bad at work .
TA Thanks for the welcome back . One of my daughters went on a school trip to Germany and had a wonderful time . Take care both of you and enjoy your day xx
Lainey Have you had any luck so far in finding somewhere for Bill I haven't caught up on the last few weeks posts so sorry if you've already posted on the matter .
Tru I hope the FB group has some ideas or even just reassures you you are not alone
Jackie I had a giggle about the Guiness . My Irish grandads and my dad would have wept at the waste but understood why you did it . Have a good trip out and enjoy your quiz night and supper .
Today is odd . we have a low grey sky with big dark clouds but the sun is trying to break through . I am waiting for a new iron to be delivered , mine finally gave up after at least 12 years of heavy use . I certainly had my moneys worth . I am also waiting for a new charger and battery for my beloved Dell which has been having a lot of problems this year . Like Gers mum I really don't want to have Windows 10 so would hope to keep this going on windows 7 as long as possible .
I am going to make batches of various soups while waiting for the delivery and see what quiches and other things I can make to top up the freezer . We have a very busy week next week so I want to get ahead whilst I can
Have a good day all , Hugs to all - especially Hilstep and Lame Wolf if you're reading and a gentle hug to Lyn x

Morning all
Weather looks a bit more promising here so one load is in WM and another is ready to go, hopefully both loads will dry on the whirly.
I cleaned out the spare fridge freezer yesterday and set it all up. I will put the soups and pasta sauce I made yesterday in there, along with some hm chilli. Big Tesco store cupboard delivery coming at 4pm to tide us over for first few weeks when baby arrives.
I need to have a lazy day as overdid it a bit yesterday, and I have 2 busy days ahead.
Have a good day all x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Good afternoon all, I hope you are all well. So many posts to catch up on as I have been absent a lot from the daily thread.
It's Eid for us tomorrow, so today will taken up with preparation for that. DS is coming up from Reading with his wife so I will have them for dinner, overnight and tomorrow. My house is small so it will be a bit snug with them here.
I will be very happy to have a better routine after Ramadhan. So much to do and it's been impossible to do it with all the bodies that have been awake at silly times. Sleep has been erratic and today I had to drop DD to her job as she is doing overtime. She is very lucky to have a good job to earn a decent wage, she is also at college so is very busy.
Lots of housework and cooking to do, as well as the bedding for the room that DS will be using. I better crack on. Hugs to those that need one.xxx“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Your really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” Lucille Ball.0 -
Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, not sure quite where the morning went, but its gone. Did do an audit on the two freezers rady to do my menu plan and shopping list. I need to build up the emergency stock cupboard again, everything has been brought into the kitchen cupboards, so the shelves in the cupboard is bare.
Nipped over to see our neighbour, we have not seen the window cleaner since before we went away in April, wondered if she had heard why he had not been, she is no wiser then me. So another job to be added to the list. Need to brush the cobwebs down and wash the window and door frames, clean the windows etc.
OH has gone for his siesta, he has been earthing up the cauli's. The hose pipe now runs the length of the garden so he can water the top of the garden. The soil is bone dry on top despite the rain.
Fritatta and salad fro supper tonight, the last of the rhubarb and blackberry crumble for dessert.0 -
I too have a vanishing window cleaner The other chap was brilliant but so good he took on extra help then sold part of the round to him The new chap came twice in the past 6 months and I've not seen him since March !!!
Got DGS Jacks trousers changed smaller waist but only had a thirty two length, but slim fitted ones so we got them and I turned them up for him.
been a bit of a rush today but I managed to fit everything in,just waiting for my son-in-law to get home then whizz off home for a quick cuppa before going to quiz night at 7.00.
Met a lady today at coffee morning who gave me a heads up to a village W.I. charity shop thats only open once a week from 12 -2.00 on a Wednesday so I will be having a mosey over to have a shufti tomorrow lunchtime
Weather stayed nice and dry so I'll get my washing in when I get home
Cheers chums

Hi sorry for lateness of post. Another murky day here but breezy enough to dry washing. 3 loads done. More information received about daughter's 24 hour camp at Gilwell this weekend. The aim is to stay awake from 9 am Sat to 9 am Sunday. Lots of permission slips to be filled in as full of exciting activities such as laser tag, scuba diving, trapeze, 3g swing. Just saying yes to all then she can decide on the day and trying not to think about it ! Also said they'd pick her up on nearby main road instead of main pickup point as I'm disabled and husband won't be back from work.
Went to town and went mad in Home Bargains as Yankee Candles jars were 3.99 and I have a birthdays coming up. Then went to my favourite cafe which is family run and reasonably priced.
Hugs to those who / want need them.0
