Faulty PS Store Digital Download (PS4)

I've recently bought a copy of Battlefield: Hardline for PS4 from the Sony digital store. After getting up to Episode 8 it has crashed at a certain point.

For those who know, the game has a set piece where you have to survive an onslaught from the enemy. If you die during this, the game will not go any further. I've google'd this, and it's not an isolated incident, and happens across the formats that the game is available for.

I have contacted Sony, who firstly said "As the game has been downloaded and played, we can't offer a refund as per our policy."

When I replied mentioning that many others have had this problem, plus the Consumer Rights Act basically nullifying their T&Cs, they said I'd have to go to Electronic Arts (the publisher).

My question is this: Who do I go to to argue for my refund?

I haven't played these games myself so I looked into this problem to satisfy my own curiosity, really sucks that there's no patch to fix it yet. You said you've looked into it yourself quite a bit so you may have tried this already but according to this thread http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-Hardline/MAJOR-bug-in-Episode-8-game-doesn-not-play/td-p/4428525 this fix works

"When you start the part at the airfield hit options then restart checkpoint. It should work after that"

Not an official fix but better than nothing if you wanted to continue your game.

I also found a thread on the site regarding refunds http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-Hardline/refund-for-BattleField-Hardline-Ultimate-Edition-on-PS4/td-p/4681624 personally I'd agree Sony owe you the refund as it was their online store you paid not EA. I don't know all the T&C though as I've never needed to deal with them or EA regarding refunds.
