It sounds like a scam to me, £8.48 is probably more than the value of the item anyway. Certainly not a freebie.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Dont panic!
Ok I had the same offer. You get 4 books of which 2 are free, as well as the poster and the bag are free.
The 8.48 is for the 2 trial books. If you ring them and tell them you want to cancel they will send you a freepost label so you can send the 2 books back (The backpack, 2 other books and poster are still free). They will tell you which 2 books need to be sent back. Make sure you get a certificate of posting.
I sent mine back about 3 weeks ago and then they emailed me several days later to say they had received them
