World Music would be a duller place without this highly talented percussionist composer from Bombay, Trilok Gurtu, with his mixing up of styles, he has teamed up with such artists as Joe Zawinul, Pat Metheny and John McLaughin. He has a distinctive “world” feel to his music and his first band Oregon, was jazz band with a classical undertones!

Gurtu has won the “Down Beat Percussionist Award” five times the “Best Percussionist” for Drum Magazine as well as the “Carlton Television Multicultural Music Award” and with more than a dozen albums under belt, under his own name, he has, astonishingly, worked on well over 100 albums and now he’s unleashed his next offering to the world.
