northern rock together mortgage

I have been reading online, so much info and reports etc, as Im in the middle of PPI complaints, one of the accounts that came back as having PPI was a loan with northern rock, this I now remember was part of the together mortgage, in early 2000 I had got a mortgage of approx £42k and then the unsecured loan linked with it of £10k, need to find paperwork and confirm, but that wont be easy due to several relocations and a messy break up.

the house was sold and all paid off in 2008

Im reading of reports that there was problems with the together loans.

would this have been automatically sorted and dealt with by them, or is this something that I can/need to investigate myself now?

many thanks for any advice.
