That's a good suggestion.Errm why not take the side off the PC and look at the modem card?
You will be able to tell which one it is from the location of the backplate where the line jack plugs in.
It is sometimes a bit harder to identify what it is, though - you often need to look at what's written on the actual chips on the modem card and then Google the number.
SiSoft Sandra is a free program which can identify hardware, but if the hardware doesn't want to tell you what it is these programs aren't as foolproof as we'd sometimes wish they were
