Council Tax Refunds

Hi all

Since being on long term sick leave I have been entitled to claim council tax benefit and my updated bill, because of the amount I had paid before going on sick, was actually in credit to the tune of £80.

Is there any way I can actually get this money sent to me or will they just hang on to it and take it off next year's bill or use it if I stop getting council tax benefit?

hi there, you should have a slip at the bottom of the letter asking whether u want it paid back to you. if this is not the case then just give them a ring, i did it last year n they were fine with me
