Government funding of Solar panels... new only?

Hi all,
I see there is a lot of discussion on this forum on the Government scheme to get people to install solar panels.
My question is pretty simple - I have a solar PV system bought from MyPlanet (yes I know that wasn't a great idea but it seemed so at the time).
Does anyone know if the support the Gov't scheme offers extends to privately-funded panel installations like my own?
Cheers,
Peter

Hiya Peter, not entirely sure what you mean by privately funded. My PV system is privately funded, in that I paid for it. And I expect almost everyone else on here is in the same boat (plus perhaps one or two RAR systems).
If you paid for it, then you should have registered it for FiTs, the government subsidy scheme.
Does any of this ring a bell? When was it installed?
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Hi Mart,
Privately-funded - you're right I guess they all are. I wasn't sure what whether the government-supported scheme counted as private, that's all.
I get the FiT for sure, I just wondered if this new government scheme offered previous installers some financial support, in some way or other, apart from the FiT.
I've had it since Sept 13. It's a 4Kw system.
Thanks for replying!

Hi Peter. I'm not 100% sure, but seem to recall that those that had fitted PV before FiTs (so pre April 2010) were able to register for FiTs. Not sure if there was/is a deadline. I also think that some who might have had a small grant towards the install cost, were also able to apply for FiTs.
So (takes a leap in the dark), most/all PV systems are probably now registered for FiTs.
The FiT scheme from Jan 2016 is lower and has some new restrictions/rules, but is still a continuation of the 2010 FiT scheme.
