Planning an anniversary meal and narrowed it down to either Flame or Howard Street restaurants in Belfast City Centre.

Anyone been to either and can recommend?

Thanks.

Of those 2, I'd go for Howard Street as I think the food is better there.

However, if I was in that area I'd go for Deanes (meat locker).

I've only ever eaten in Flame and can't recommend it highly enough. None of us could find any fault with any part of the meal or service. I would request a table away from the open kitchen though as it looked quite smoky over in that part.

However I am also keen to try Howard Street!

Their wings are lovely as a starter!

Howard St is great, Veggie menu as well which is good.
  • Of the two, Howard Street is definitely better. I wasn't impressed with Flame the last time I was there at all, and several others felt the same.

    Thanks for all the replies!
Ended up going to Flame last Monday as Howard Street was closed on Mondays.
Very very nice. Food gorgeous (all courses) and very attentive but not overbearing service. Didn't book but got a table easily although later on it looked quite busy.
Cocktails were £5 between 12 and 7 so managed to get a few of these before the offer stopped - the sherbet drop was amazing.
Will maybe try Howard Street next time (whenever that is) depending on it what day it is!
