How to get oil off bottom of oven

My oven is fairly new and I have been really good about cleaning it, or at least wiping it round, after each use.
OH cooked a roast dinner last week and I didn't realise some of the oil from the Yorkshire pudding tins had spilt onto the oven floor. Needless to say he didn't mention it nor did he clean it up.
I switched the oven on to heat up last night and when I opened it again I realised what had happened and turned it off. Today I have tried to get it off but I have just got a sticky mess on the bottom of the oven.
Any ideas what to use to get it off?

The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie

I've got Mr Muscle oven cleaner which seems quite good but I'd say any oven cleaner would do the job if it's just a small amount of oil, amd you let the cleaner sit long enough to work.
If there's loads of it, cat litter's good at absorbing oil. The fullers earth/diatomaceous earth type. I've never heard of anyone using it in an oven though. It might make an even worse mess :rotfl:0
