My wife transferred part of her married tax allowance to me this year. She has noticed an increase in her NI Payments and when i checked the online calculator she is paying at Ni rate A not rate B The married persons allowance. Is this due to the transferred tax allowance or merely an error? Thanks

Table B is the reduced married women's stamp - nothing to do with the transfer of marriage persons allowance. Has your wife has always paid at this rate?0 -
Or is it that last year she was cat D due to being in a contracted out pension scheme ?0

If it is still the case, then his wife is earning £135 a week, falls between LEL and PT and shouldn't be paying NI?

I think that to see what is happening here we need to see some actual figures. Can you advise the 2015/16 P60 figures for national insurance (failing that say last couple of payslip details for 2015/16 gross pay and employee NI ) and the payslip figures for this year?0
