Halifax employer reference - new job

Hi Everyone,
So today our MA advised us that he found us a lender who's willing to give us a mortgage even though my husband has only been in work for the past month due to being made redundant a few months ago. However he has just had a job offer this evening which offers more money (same line of work).
Will this affect our application?
Will they want an employer reference?
His new job would be starting Monday.
Thanks

Don't know if its any help to you but my husband got his mortgage offer within weeks of starting at a new job after being self employed for 2 years previous to that with Santander.0

They're not going to be unhappy if he's earning more money. Considering the short timescales involved, I don't think they'll mind if he's been in position a month or a week - most lenders have 6 month / year cut offs, where it would matter moreMortgage
