What's next house buying process

Hi,
My solicitor sent me this today and am wondering what the next step is?
"The draft contract has been received and I have this morning dictated the contract report to you. I have raised enquiries on the title with the Sellers Solicitors. Mortgage offer is now in and I have to check this and also your searches which require checking.
I will continue to be in touch with you over the next few days"
Can anyone advise on what is left once the solicitor has gone through the mortgage offer, and the searches, and received the enquiries back?
Is it then all about tying up all the loose ends?
Are we able to set an exchange date following this?
We are keen to progress quickly as we do not want to loose our buyer, due to our first sale falling through.

Completely depends how good your solicitor is.0

They have been quick so far, but just didn't know what the next part of the process is after everything has been checked that she said needed checking.
Would talking about dates be next after this, or is there a part of the processing that I haven't mentioned?0 -
