Monday 27th June - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Hi Specky and thanks for starting the thread!
Feeling very tired and groggy this morning. Hoping I perk up soon and my usual energy levels return soon as have a lot I want to get done...
Had a lovely time at the festival yesterday with oh & dgd (saw and loved Chaz & Dave!) and stuck to my £10 budget - oh bought me drinks as I drove. I got dgd an icecream and a ladybug balloon. Both total rip offs but dgd loved them so much they were worth the £7.50 they cost! Was inspired as I was up early and made a batch of brownies and packed lunches for while we were there
Today:
* put a post on freecycle and streetlife asking if anyone has a spare garden hand fork as mine broke on saturday
* giving away a chilli plant as have 4 firey ones and oh can't eat spicy food so I will be eating these by myself!
* need to do some garden maintenance
* nipping to a friends so will stop and pick up some larger pots as chillis & aubergines need potting on
* flylady house!
* roast lamb using last week's lo lamb and par boiled potatoes from the freezer
* hoping to get to the allotment for a couple of hours
* all meals from stores
Ok that's all I can think of. Happy Monday guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi all
A day off paid stuff no. 1 today and the big plan was to do a bit of spring cleaning, especially in DS2s bedroom as he rarely leaves it on an evening or weekend and its hard to clean around a grumpy 15 year old. This is going well, just stopped for lunch.
I did call into the cafe where DS1 works earlier and he made me a latte which cost me £2.20. A rare treat.
DS2 needs a new mattress, and probably a new bed before long too. Need to save up.
Right, need to get on.0 -
Good afternoon everyone. My plans to get out and get a few bits and bobs are out the window today as DS is teething and feeling rotten. He's napping on me and I'm going to try and do some work while he sleeps. We'll see. My list:
- pack ebay sales for posting tomo
- start menu plan for next week
- work this evening
- get an early night
- check bank
- meals at home / packed lunch for DH
- enjoy a cup of coffee right now
- text a few people to catch up on how they're doing
- hang a washing up on airers0 -

Hi June Jubilatants,
Busy day at work on a crazy-hours shift.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Checked online banking.
* Did RM Surveys.
* Decided against going for a certain career opportunity. The money would've been awesome but the job wasn't for me. It's complicated but my sanity has to come first.
* Took a packed lunch to work.
* DW weeded some of the onion patch.
How about you folks?

Hi all
ally I have been in a situation where I took an office job that I didnt really want to do purely because I needed the money. I hated it, you have made the right decision.
Hope baby plainandsimple is settled now.
Welcome fizzyvimto, great user name!
Been to gym class tonight, lie in tomorrow as I have no job no. 1 and DS doesnt need to be at work until 10.30am.
We ended up with a huge pork shoulder joint courtesy of online grocery shopping which I slow cooked all day, it was lovely. Dont think DS1 has eaten such a big meal in weeks, I was really pleased. DH is now on cold pork sandwiches indefinitely. I did say I would freeze some but he promises me that he will eat it!
Glass of wine (from a bottle out of our Christmas box) and library book now, bliss.0
