Food festivals & events for possible coupons!

Some of the best places to pick up free non-store specific coupons are at events, festivals and Supermarket roadshow stalls. But these can be hard to find out about in advance so I thought I would start a thread for any info anyone has about current Food Festivals, promotions or events.

Maybe anyone with info about approaching food events or samplings can post them here? Organised festivals are not always free but, if nothing else, there would be fun things for the kiddies to do and some free food samplings, would make a nice day out anyway. And other events are free stands at Supermarkets etc., some of which MSEers may know about in advance....please post if you know anything!

  • The baby show is on at Earls court in October.Usually lots of washing powder samples and some coupons. Also BBC good food shows in London,Birmingham and somewhere in Scotland in November. The Ideal homes(London in March) and Vitality show(london in April) are good sources of coupons. I can also recomend the Bristol balloon fiesta(August) and Bristol organic food festival(September)-I came away from that one loaded up with free food and coupons.Have a look at www.loquax.co.uk and www.theprizefinder.com
as there are always loads of comps to win tickets and I never pay to go in!
  • Thanks Coupon Mad for starting this thread, I think it is a great idea!

Froggy, I have also heard good things about the BBC Food Show, have you been in the past? The tickets are expensive...

Most large Sainsburys stores in my area are having a Product Tasting Event from this Friday onwards, 28th September for a week or so. I saw the ads outside the stores and it looks to be a national thing.

This is the sort of thing that there may be coupons at, and if the products being demonstrated are not Sainsburys own then any coupons MAY be non-store specific too. Worth a look if passing a Sainsburys - on the way to Tesco, lol!

This must be related to British Food fortnight, so has anyone else seen other Supermarkets or events advertising Food Sampling (& coupons, lol!)? I am not very near to a Budgens, has anyone seen anything there yet (see first post)?

The great thing about these shows is that they hand out books of money off coupons as you go in and a lot of people dump them so if you do a bit of wombling you can find a lot-also on occasions I have found an unattetended box full of them! There are already several comps for tickets around-do a search on the comp sites.

    Bumpity.....

Anyone going to Sainsburys today please let us know what products they are demonstrating in their national sampling promotion (starts today, see above posts). Is it just Taste the Difference or is it normal products with nice coupons being offered too?

Also anyone been to Budgens or have they all been turned into M&S food shops? :D If you have a Budgens nearby it may be worth a look over the weekend, or next week, due to their connection with British Food Fortnight.
