the systems don't account for shared care - and there can be only one primary carer that would then receive any child related benefits and be classed as the PWC for maintenance. As you have them less than 50% of the time she would be the PWC and you the NRP and be liable for child maintenance reduced for the amount of time they spend with you. (I cannot see that you would not be assessed to pay anything)
When true 50/50 (7 nights per fortnight) some parents may choose to pay for one child each and agree not to pay each other maintenance but that would need to be a personal agreement0 -

If your ex agrees that you pay equally, will she close the claim and have a voluntary agreement for shared expenses?
would she allow you to claim child benefit/tax credits (if applicable) for one child?
are you getting the 3/7th reduction for overnights?0 -
