Some truth in there I'm sure but irrelevant to the discussion about whether Burry was a visionary, lucky or both.

    Simply pragmatic.

In AG47land I'm exposed to over half a million worth of debt because I've got a mortgage for £250,000 and I've also got a house worth a bit more, which is an asset, and any asset is just a liability viewed from the other side. So if you add all that exposure up, along with all my other investments (which are just debts that other people owe me, so therefore this is also "exposure") I'm exposed to half a million worth of liabilities. Which side I'm on is irrelevant, the fact that my mortgage is netted off by the value of my house is irrelevant, the point is I'm exposed to half a million worth of liabilities.

This is clearly a huge amount and I couldn't possibly find the cash to pay half a million worth of liabilities (and if I could, I'd be in an even worse position as I'd now be exposed to half a million worth of loans to the Bank of England) so clearly I'm about to go bankrupt at any moment and the fact that I haven't is a grotesque conspiracy.

I suspect AG47 has great difficulty in using changing rooms. In his world, it doesn't matter which side of the door you're on, you're still exposed either way.

What do all the DB cheerleaders say now?

What sort of world do you live in, where you believe that banks have cheerleaders?

I don't think anyone is a DB cheerleader.

But your refusal to understand what $50tr of derivatives is, makes it impossible to have a serious conversation about DBs problems.

Word that the "Dark Pools" were shut down in Europe this morning has everyone wondering about WHO took the brunt of the derivative losses. As the BREXIT vote was a surprise outcome it will most likely be the banks/insurance providers that offer the derivatives hedges in the first place - Deutsche Bank, of course, being the mother-ship of derivative writers.

Historic Volume Surge Forces Deutsche Bank to Shutdown "Dark Pool" Trading

"Deutsche Bank followed suit, and temporarily shut off outside market makers in its dark pool, SuperX. The bank told outside market makers that they would be prohibited from trading in SuperX on Friday, until the bank notified them it was ready to resume."

    END

Rumor has it that the Banking Cabal "insiders" had told EVERYONE in their inner circles that the BREXIT vote was rigged to "STAY" and to bet accordingly.

    Now they are toast.

    More to come...

In my opinion Deutsche Bank will be saved by Merkel with public money or forced to merge with Commercial Bank. That's my view. :EasterBun

They can’t take on the assets without taking on the liabilities

50 trillion plus in toxic derivatives that’s a hell of a lot of liabilities :rotfl:
