But we were told that they had losses of tens of trillions. Trillions!

The guy who posted that seemed very certain of his facts, too.

Lehmans apparently was bust. Yet Barclays picked up the business for £250m and subsequently made billions.

And the UK taxpayer supposedly "gave billions to the banks" when in reality we made a profit on the 2008 bailouts. And so on and so on.

Expecting them to understand the difference between cashflow insolvent, technically insolvent and actually insolvent is a waste of time.

Being ignorant about finance is, ironically, big business - look at Thomas Piketty and Ben Dyson.

This is a too big to fail, meaning if it fails then the entire financial system goes down

    Yet it's failing

There will be no bailout this time

How could they still not downgrade it?

It will be downgraded in the next 24 hrs, and then look out bellow as the derivative bomb ones off

Is it really 60 trillion in derivatives that are about to go go bang?????

Should we start storing food and weapons, is it going to go mad max?

Why is this not all over the main stream news?

You started this thread 2 years ago claiming the derivative time bomb was about to go bang

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

The bad news for Deutsche Bank is that any businesses with a higher rating than BBB+ will not bank with them.

The only question left is not will Itally, Greece ect somehow able to pay off their debts and save the Deutsche bank derivative time bomb, because this answer is clear that they will not be able to pay off their debts, so the only question is will the European Central Bank try to bail out the 50-60 trillion in derivative losses?

After the films like THE BIG SHORT, there will not be any more banker bailouts this time around.

So what are the consequences of a too big to fail bank like DB actually failing?

The question about Brexit should not be should the U K leave, the question should be will the EU stil be around in the future?

If DB are not bailed out then could they have a bail in?

How many depositors could lose all their money, and how far would this go towards the 50-60 trillion?

Would this cause a run on the banks as scared account holders want to pull out all their accounts.?
