    Thanks gallygirl. Absolutely spot on.
Is your sig your debt? You've cleared over £100k?
That was mortgage debt SM and we still have a mortgage but hopefully that will be gone in next few weeks. If you want to lose a few weeks of your life then have a read through my diaries, but to cut a very long story short:
    - Bought some BTL's with Mr GG
    - Bought a holiday home in Spain (at height of market :wall:)
    - Decided the day we took possession of it that I wanted to live there asap.
    - Came up with a plan (save every penny but try to divert some to pension) to retire at 55.
    - Worked our butts off to pay most of the mortgages off.
    - Retired at 53 :T and moved to Spain.
    - Decided apartment too small so bought a house by the sea :j.

If you had told me 10 years ago I'd be out here I'd never have believed you - so dare to dream :D.

Im dreaming! I think there are a lot of things that could get in the way of it all, but without this huge debt hanging around our neck, the world is our oyster!
Got two letters today from credit card companies, upping limits on existing cards. I'm assuming this means our credit score is improving. We're not spending on any cards, and only using them for 0%BTs now, so hopefully the improved score will mean the 0% offers will keep coming.
All our high % cards are now closed, and everything is at less than 14% now, mostly sub 5%, which makes a difference to our debt free date. Mortgage is also fixed at a low rate for another two years.

So hope everyone has had a good day, I've been sitting watching the news. No idea how the EU Brexit is going to pan out, can only hope it doesn't impact too much on house prices, or make interest rates rocket!

    Hi diary,
Quiet day today, I'm home alone and rather than shopping (!) I'm busy doing some tidying up, sorting out stuff and listing some bits and bobs on eBay and Facebook. I've got a load of books I'm trying to sell as bundles on Facebook, as postage will be tricky, but I swear I'm the only person in this town who actually reads! Anyone got any good ideas about selling books? No point using Amazon as the prices aren't worth the hassle. I may have to consider a car boot, but I'm trying to avoid it if possible!

Other than that, feeling quite positive today despite the referendum result yesterday that, frankly, knocked me for six.

Hope readers have a great weekend.

    Hi diary
Had a good day yesterday. Cleared out the loft of all the kids toys, and so far have sold a huge bundle of Stuff for £80, and a load of other stuff listed on eBay. This also means that the loft is much clearer....great for when we do come to move!

  • Hi

I don't usually come on this side of forum, but decided t have a quick look. You mention that you are waiting for your Next statement to come so that you can pay it off. I generally pay when I collect an order, I know how much I have spent, pay it online. It may show up as a credit on the account, but at least I know that I can forget about it. Is this something you could do? If so, you know that it is another debt gone.

Thanks.Next account is actually currently in credit, but waiting for some orders to be added to balance, and some returns to come off, which will leave a small balance to pay off and then I will close the account.

Busy week this week at work, have spent a lot of time in the car! Had to pay £14 the other day for car parking, which I was really cross about. I get it back in my expenses, but not until the end of next month.

Sold some more bits on Facebook last night, so another £20 in the pot. Final total for June sales of 'stuff in the house we won't need' was £350! Just goes to show how much superfluous tat we have lying around.

    Hi diary
Lovely weekend this weekend as we have family visiting. Sold a bag on FB today, so another £50 in the pot, all good. Off out for coffee son with my auntie, which will be great as she lives on the other side of the world, so face to face chats other than via Skype are very few and far between.

Then tomorrow my kids are in a theatre production which we are going to see, then meal out. Going back to work on Monday will be a blow!

Next statement comes out on Monday, so that will then be gone. Have had confirmation that the Simply Be account is also closed.

June was a success, nothing extra onto the credit card at all. Really pleased as it means our budget is starting to work. Was tight by the end, but fine.

On the slight downside our oven has a fault, but rather than using the manufacturers engineer, who wanted £99 to come and have a look, we've used a local engineer, who had a look for free, I ordered the part online, and he will come and fit it for £30. Result!

Another £10 in the pot today from some outgrown fancy dress clothing. Can't pay off the Next as had forgotten about the preordered school uniform (25 % off though!) so will take another few months to clear, but not buying anything else!

Relatively quiet week. Few more bits sold on Facebook and eBay, so holiday pot is creeping up. Both loan payments have now gone out for the month, and all other minimum payments on cards. Have an extra payment to make on the highest interest card that I'm snowballing first, but will do that at the end of the month.
I will only be updating my monthly total once a month, as will wait for all the interest to be deducted from payments made first.
Have a busy weekend planned, have to do some food shopping, post some eBay stuff off, and do a mountain of housework. I'm doing an MSc at the moment through work, so also need to do some study at some point!
