Buyers Mortgage with Underwriters

Hi,
We accepted an offer on our house. The mortgage was applied for, and agreed in principle. The survey was done, and last week Thursday, we were told the mortgage had all been fully agreed, and the documents have been sent to the solicitors. I rang today (Wednesday) to see how things were going, and I was told the mortgage was now with the underwriters! Is that even possible? Or has the estate agent lied to me last week?

Large Estate Agents without being assigned a Case Manager basically mean whoever picks up the phone when you ring just reads notes left by others. It's all a bit like Chinese whispers at times!
However lets assume what you've been told is all correct. It's perfectly possible the Mortgage was Approved and the offer sent to the Solicitors, but they then spotted a mistake or took issue with something so had to send it back to the Lender.0 -
Ah, that makes sense. Maybe something needing updating with the application. Hopefully I'll hear more tomorrow and there isn't anything to worry about!!0
