Hay fever

Apologies if you already know this, but I am so pleased and amazed that I want to pass this on . My elder grandson, who is 10, has always suffered terribly with hay fever. The worst thing was his eyes which would get really sore and itchy. I heard last year that local honey is supposed to be good for hay fever so I bought a jar which was produced within a mile of where he lives. I thought it was worth a shot! He had a teaspoonful a day and this year he has had no symptoms whatsoever!!! Possibly he has just grown out of it but for the sake of a few pounds I'd say it's worth trying. He lives in a very rural area with forest at the back of his house is surrounded by things that set it off and we live down south where pollen levels are high. It's really made a difference to his summer so far.

  • Glad it's worked I couldn't locate local honey. Luckily I've been approved for immunotherapy <think that's how you spell it. Il be injected with pollen for a few weeks in the hope I become immune X

I've had the course of injections and then I had the new tablet (Grazax) version. You'll find that it's more than a few weeks of treatment.;)

I hope you have a 'Lily the Pink' experience, like I did..............."most efficacious in every case":D

Ive been using the Honey therapy for years.

You really should try it before pumping your body with chemicals.

Honey is natures own antiseptic and can work wonders.

Try it but give it a month and have a coupld of spoons of it, every day, spring, summer autumn and winter, it will keep other nasties away too
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

When I was having the (Timothy grass pollen) injections in my arm, I reacted to them. At the injection site, I had a raised (rectangular shaped) red lump which was very hot. I had to place a cold water soaked flannel on it to get some relief.

It took several hours to cool down and a couple of days for the lump to disappear.

I also reacted to the Grazax (Timothy grass pollen) tablets. A tablet is placed under the tongue and you don't swallow for the first minute....while the tablet dissolves. Also, not allowed to eat or drink for at least 5 minutes.

I reacted to the tablet, a pea sized lump developed under my tongue each time but my tongue didn't swell up.

It takes 3 years of immunology treatment and I'm very happy with the results.
