Overseas Mortgage - Ireland

Just wondering if anyone has any advice/been in similar position.

I am moving to Ireland later this year for a new job. Rents are extortionate and I would like to buy a property ASAP. I have an international bank account with a UK bank and wondering whether best option is to apply for a mortgage with them or try an Irish bank. Do I go direct to the banks or do I get a broker involved? Do I need an Irish based broker or a UK broker and try for an overseas mortgage? Is this even possible?

Realistically how long are the bank going to want me to have been in my new role for? Has anyone ever got a mortgage whilst new to country and a job?

Thanks
