Santander changed my address without me knowing

Options
Hey guys,
This is a bit of a long story. Over a year ago I almost bought a house and got a mortgage through my bank (Santander) the house purchase fell through so we didn't take out the mortgage. This was September 2015.

I'm currently in the process of purchasing another house but going with a different lender and i've just logged in to print off my online bank statements to send to the mortgage company and noticed that my address on my bank statements is the address of the house I almost purchased last year!

I now have a mixture of emotions, i'm angry and also worried. What happens if any mail was sent to this address and also how has this even happened when Santander knew we never bought the house!
I'm going to have to call them first thing in the morning, just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced anything similar?!

And i'm assuming i'll have to wait until my address is correct before sending the statements to the current mortgage provider?

Thanks!

They could change it through a series of mistakes.
Why you haven't spotted it beforehand is another question to answer.

I don't get statements and only use online banking. Never look at my online statements because I check the account regularly. I never had the need to check my address.

Yes, I contacted them this morning, they don't know how it happened.
I had already changed my address online as soon as I realised last night.

They said I should have a statement with the correct address online by tomorrow and that they're speaking to the branch I went through to get my mortgage (last year) and I should hear back within 48 hours.
They didn't seem too concerned and said no mail was sent out luckily.

They are hopeless and its nothing new.

I was with Abbey then it changed to santander and they changed my first name on my account to a nick name which also part of my e-mail address. The initial was the same.

I went in asked why and the woman behind the counter said she had no idea why and from what she said it sound like other people had been effected in different ways. Due to that and other circumstances at the time I changed banks.

They are still making mistakes like that over 6 years on and its worrying!!!

    Hi Calley,

This is the first issue i've ever had with them and my account has been open approx 10 years, but will be considering moving my current account now!
