Reduced dvds at Homebase

Options
I don't know if this is just at my local store or at all Homebase stores. There's reduced DVDs inc:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 93p
Smurfs 2 93p
Les Miserables 93p
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 93p
Various Mr Tumble DVDs 93p to £1.93
Various Barbie DVDs £1.93+
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 £2.43
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 £3.43
Hotel Transylvania £1.93
Despicable Me 2 £1.93
The Imitation Game £1.93

There were a few more but I can't remember the prices. Others were Fury, Terminator Genysis, Ted 2 and I can't remember the rest. I think the most expensive one there was The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 for £3.43

Must be nationwide, as they were marking them down in my local today. Unfortunately a staff member nabbed the Breaking Bad box set!
Only dead fish go with the flow...
  • DVDs are so old hat now. Do people really want them cluttering up their homes now we're in this superfast internet age?

They're reliable, they're easy to put on for the kids, and they work well even if your internet connection is <5mb or down completely.

Physical media is a very long way from being dead, both amongst those without good internet connections (or those wanting to watch something potentially on the move/away from home without an expensive phone contract), and those who simply like actually owning the product and not being stuck when a service goes down.
They also often have extras missing from the streaming versions.

@pennypincher2013 - thank you so much for posting this. :T

Took a chance and visited our local Homebase and found loads of reduced price DVDs and CDs.

We have purchased lots of them for a fundraising event and the lovely lady at my local Homebase let us have some of the more expensive DVDs for 93p as well :j We are very happy as they will make really good "lucky dip" prizes.
