Virgin money mortgage

Hi, we are about to remortgage so we can borrow extra for some building work. Our broker has recommended virgin money, does anyone have any options on them? Tbh I don't know much about them!
Another thing is out finances are all good but we had a CCJ about 7 years ago that was paid back in full and dropped off our credit history last February. Does anyone know if this will effect the mortgage application still?
Thanks

Been very good for us so far. Ending up doing 2 applications after first purchase fell through. Both offers were back with in 3 days of successfull valuation.
All done through our broker (who happens to be my brother)!0
