Hi all,
For those in the know:
Broker submitted full application on Wednesday for Halifax HTB product with a 75% LTV. Valuation fee paid at time of submission too. Shortly after, my broker forward me the following email:
Full Application Result : Accept
We are pleased to confirm that your mortgage application of £xxx.xx on behalf of xxx has been accepted. For this application to proceed to Offer as soon as possible please provide the following: xxx latest payslip.
Experian is showing both a soft and hard search from RBS on the date that the full application was submitted.
I suppose my question is, is this as positive as it seems? Also, why ask for latest payslip and not 3 months payslip, 3 months bank statements as asked for by my broker?
Look forward to exchanging experiences and opinions!

This is standard process. Halifax instruct valuation on day one whatever (an approach that is gaining in popularity with lenders).
Halifax pick up background details electronically so it is common for them not to request all the documentation you have supplied to your broker.
No complications on your payslip and a sound valuation and things are looking good.I am a Mortgage Broker

Little point worrying about such details. Supply the lender with what's asked for. If the broker has done their homework and there's no skeletons in the cupboard. Then the vast majority of applications are accepted.0 -
My broker applied with Halifax on Tuesday, they only asked for the latest payslip and as I'm in Scotland they requested the valuation from the firm that carried out the home buyers survey.
Mortgage offer was with the broker on Friday before lunch.0 -
Regardless of what the lender requests now, the broker is required to obtain all the documents the lender might have requested, so typically you'll be asked to provide;-
evidence of identity
evidence of address
three months payslips
P60
self-employed - two years tax calcs & tax year overviews
three months bank statements for salary account and any "bills" account
evidence of deposit/savings
gifted deposit form/letter and evidence of source (parent's bank stmt)
and any other items peculiar to the case (contracts for a contractor for example).I am a mortgage broker.
