    After 10 relaxing days in Spain I now feel a bit stressed and very tired.

    I've been into school to sort my classroom out and it's playing on my mind. I'm dreaming about it and waking up at stupid times. I've been teaching for 20 years so I suppose it's good that I still get a buzz from it.

    I made good progress today and it now looks more like a classroom. By Monday it should be how I want it and hopefully I can begin to relax again!

    OH has made a cottage pie for tea (he's a fab cook) my boys have gone with their dad for the night and there's a bottle of wine in the fridge.

    Doubt I'll be staying up to watch the Olympic opening ceremony though

    Slept so much better last night, it's because my classroom is now nearly done.

    Yesterday was a NSD day, that's the second of the month so far. Today I've had to buy bread, milk, some cleaning bits and stationary. That came to £10.62. Meal plan runs up to Tuesday and then we're going to London on Friday morning so I'm hoping to get away with another little shop not my usual big £50/60 job.

    We're off to a family BBQ later but we're still undecided whether to get a taxi back or drive?

    It's gorgeous today - I'm off to sit in the garden.,

    BBQ was good and saw lots of family I haven't seen for a while. Drove home as my son needed collecting from work - he works in the kitchens in a local pub a few nights a week, so I said I'd pick him up as the pub is 2 miles away through unlit country lanes. Anyway we were home for 9pm but not text or phone call from him?

    At 10.30 he walks through the door - his phone had died so no way of contacting me so he walked!!

    Today should be a NSD. I need to do some cleaning and ironing. Beef is in the oven so need to prep the veg. Might go for a walk later.

    Can't believe 2 weeks of the 6 week holidays is done!
  • Hi Louby, just catching up, glad you had a good holiday. I have seen a few people mention YNAB. Where do you start with this? sounds like something I could make use off! Hope you have a good day x

    Hi

    You can download a months free trial. It's quite complicated but the best way to understand it is to try it out.

    I'm loving it. It's made me think about money/budgeting and what I buy in a totally different way. There a tons of YouTube videos you can sign up to and even free webinars to help you.

    Have a look. If you need any help I can try and talk you through it.

    Today has been a productive day..I've :

    * steam cleaned the shower
    * hoovered
    * did one load of washing & pegged out
    * did a MASSIVE pile of ironing
    * made yummy beef dinner
    * went for a 5k walk
    * sorted out £6 of books/DVDs for Money Magpie
    * sorted out bits and pieces that won't sell on eBay to give to my friends son whose doing car boot sales to raise money to fund a school trip to Costa Rica

    Pretty good I think......and it's NSD #3
  • Morning Louby,

    Well done on the productive day yesterday and getting another NSD!! Addictive isn't it?!

    And check you now championing YNAB! Love it, well done.
  • Thanks Louby, I had a quick look, the site I found is in dollars - is this right? I think I will have a go at the free trial in September. We are going away this month and not sure what internet access will be like so seems a bit of a waste to do the free trial now. Well done on the NSD! something else I think I should try!! x

    Hi AH

    When you sign up you change the $ to £ and can personalise it to your own circumstances.

    Unfortunately it appears the circuit board has gone on our boiler. Which means no hot water. I'm waiting on a price for a new one. I'm hoping it's going to be no more than £200 but who knows with these things! So my emergency fund (with £200 sat in it) could be wiped out in one swoop! If it's more my overdraft will have to be used

    Typical, this 'life' thing just sucks sometimes.
