Sad-Dad, I dont know about a 'glitchy' way, but I do know how as a couple you can put £123000 into 19 accounts, and earn £3780 per year (3.1%). After that I could tell you about all the best monthly regular saver accounts, which if you plan it right, you could have one or more maturing every month. Each month when one matures, you use this to fund all the other monthly accounts.....you then do this every month. It does take a year to set all the regular monthly saver accounts up though :o

To me it sounds like a hell of a lot of work to set up:eek:
I know that many people prefer their money to be very safe but the dividend return on a decent share portfolio would easily pay 5 x that.
I know energy and alcohol are 2 of the most stable and motley crew also recommend Unilever as people always need to stay clean.
Shares are a slight gamble but if you are happy to put in a few hours reading up they are more profitable and quite fun. Obviously have a good spread of companies. Even with the brexit vote as long as we had kept away from banking and aviation we made a profit.
I suppose that it you have the aptitude for setting up these bank accounts they probably run themselves in the end but do you have to keep changing when the fixed term is up?

I know mse'ers love their bank accounts but just a different view.

Sorry to hear of your divorce ...but take Nerfy advice and keep the house which you can until children are old enough ...I believe

You don't need to argue about it just be firm and don't be swayed as you are looking at years of struggling with 3 kids and as you say he is off enjoying his new found freedom .....

DO NOT under any circumstances give him a free reign to spend all his dosh on himself and another woman ... eventually ...as you will regret this later when you will still be struggling with three children ........
While he is single and free to pretty much do as he pleases ...you will always have the 3 children to look after .... which will be hard for you and I have seen this so much in life that when a divorce happens ...the "man" is usually brow beaten to forget the old wife family and just concentrate on his new "life"
And make sure he has the kids every other weekend or every weekend even as you do have them for the rest of the week every week
Don't let him call the shots ....You after all will be the one left holding all your children together for ever

I have to agree with you UP. I had always made sure that any house we lived in was in my sole man..... and any money.... whilst he can have the debts!!

Because the questions regarding bank accounts and interest come up regularly, here is brief summary, of the best at present.
The figures in brackets is the max amount to put in for max interest.
x2 or x 3 is the number of accounts per person.
TSB Classic Plus 5% (£2000) monthly pay in £500 no DD's
    Santander 3% (£20000) monthly pay in £500 2 DD's
    Club LLoyds 4% (£5000) monthly pay in £1500 2 DD's
    BOS x3 3% (£5000) monthy pay in £1000 2DD's
    Tesco bank x 2 3% (£3000) no monthly pay in no DD's

juju, I really do need to get my head around this and go for it.

I have the Santander 123, I think the easiest way ahead for me would be the TSB Classic Plus - one for me and one for the OH - if I put in £2,000 - and each month did a DD into the account for £500 and another one taking this back out... (shout at me if I am not doing it properly!).

Does anyone know why Windows 10 will only install to 99% ?
I have been trying for the last 3 days and it keeps doing the same thing.
This is from a HP Windows 7 Laptop. Have tried Googling it and seems like other people have had the same problem, but not tech savvy enough to understand what they are saying.

I bought my walking shoes there about 8 years ago, they have only been used regularly for about 4 years though, they were used on odd occasions before that. Unfortunately the back is wearing out slightly so I had to replace those, was hoping to get more from Lidl or Aldi but just not seen them this year, was forced to buy some elsewhere yesterday so I can get them worn in.

Aww that's a shame, as I didn't think mine would last walking in -18/-20 degrees but they did, and my thermals I bought from QD men's thermal long johns and long sleeved vests. The cruise cost a fortune but I think the dearest thing I bought was my coat which is a 2 layered type so I could wear them separate if wanted to. I paid £40 for it in the high street from some 'mountain' shop or other :rotfl:

    Lots of 1-2-3 chat....

If you have £20K saved per month and don't use the 123 utility cashback aspect you will still get an equivalent rate of approx 2.75% after deduction of £5 fee, however...............

1-2-3 rate will be dropping to 2% in the next 3 months meaning an equivalent of 1.7% after fee so therefore still attractive, but not as attractive.

    Boooooo.....when is this happening WMC?
