    Morning Nellie

Afraid it's back home for me today I am going to have to empty the bedroom best I can so that Mr TS can move bed, pull back carpet and take up floor board to try see what's going on.

Any plumbers on here we should be able to see pipes shouldn't we?

    Good morning all...

Tiny...is it possibly a leaking radiator in the bedroom....pulling the boards up above the leak should let you see whats going on and if its not the bathroom above the kitchen then a radiator leak might be the cause?

Hope its nothing too major TS :( You are doing the right thing though as water can cause so much damage if left. I would think that you should be able to see the pipes if you take the floor board up. Good luck x

Did you have new plaster board put up on the kitchen ceiling?
Was it screwed in with the screws that are now exposed....my guess is they disturbed a central heating pipe which feeds your radiators when the plasterboard was put up...its easily done and happened to us in the past!!!

Its one of those things that results in a slow leak that can take quite a while to reveal its self.

I wish it was LEJC no we think it's where water mains feed goes up if you can imagine it used to go straight up in that corner outside the old larder but because we wanted granite tops we had it moved so it sort if does S shape now in to old larder at bottom and up to ceiling and then back into ceiling void of new ceiling in kitchen.

Heard from DD it hasn't got too much bigger while water off over night original circle looks to have dried a bit but there is now a patch right in the corner ceiling and wall which definitely suggests mains. :(

Still am sat enjoying a breakfast/brunch bun with egg and bacon before I go back.

I guess it could be I just thought it is the airing cupboard above old larder could be any number of pipes!

Yes they did screw up but Mr TS is pretty sure they screwed the batons for plasterboard into the joists. That particular bit of ceiling has no old ceiling above it a hole was cut out to allow plumber to do his work easily. So assume they would have seen pipes. But odd the plaster has cracked round that screw head bit further away from damp patch.

A mate of ours says it may be a compression joint especially if new pipe work was linked to old. Not heard anything from our plumber yet but it is the weekend.

Right off for quick shower here then home for me. Catch you all later.

Afternoon all, just on the train home.
    99p, train tickets to Southampton.....
Definitely look at splitting, I look at all the combinations that I can have (by checking where the train stops) and work it from there, I find the split ticket sites arnt that good.
Best bit of advice though is get a 2together rail card, it gets you a third off rail travel. They cost you about £17 but you will save more than that on one trip. You can also get them with cc vouchers.
From London to Southampton and back, if the times are suitable, use mega train. Tickets from a few quid if you get them just after midnight on the day of release, and they use the fast trains too.
If you don't fancy the thought of changing in London, you can get trains all the way from Durham/Newcastle direct to Southampton (and probably from places in Scotland too, not sure where snouts you are) but I like the break Inbetween.
What ship is it you are thinking of going on?
Oh, and I have a special pic to post for zippy later ;)

Oh, also 99p, check out Bon voyage for the price of the cruise, I have just booked 2 cruises through them and they beat the usual suspects prices on both.

    Thanks Dave. Azura.
I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.
