Evening Elite
It's been a lazy day for me today, long long lie in after a late late night catching up on TV series while I have my one month trial of Amazon Primeafternoon gang
I have been in a very strange place this past few days, quite emotional but quite calm, sort of one minute up and one down with a lot of tears at odd moments.
I had a telephone counselling session that started it as it was not what I needed and it upset me a lot, she decided that I needed to talk to step change but as I discovered that was a BIG mistake as they made me go through all my problems and money woes and then decided that I needed a specialist. At the end I had to call a different number and they couldn't help either so they advised that I talk to CAB
As someone who has spent most of their adult life working within the banking sector I knew there was not a lot that could be done but I went through the motions.......square peg, round hole is my current situation as they cannot deal with anyone who has zero income....... I don't fit their flow charts, lol.
While I was on the phone to the "specialist team" I had to log into my online banking and nearly had a heart attack as my 25% drawdown of my pension had been paid !!!!!!
This made me even more emotional as although it looks a lot, it is not enough to support us for any amount of time and I have lots I could pay off so had to sleep on it and today have settled quite a few credit cards and cancelled a whole load of direct debits.
I am hoping that hubby will start to go into work in May, just to get him used to the routine even though he can't do much yet I am sure it will lift his spriits. First we will have a short trip just to get away from that bloody phone - does anyone else have the one that always rings when youre having a nap, bath, dinner, etc ???
sorry for the long sermon but had to get it all off my chest...... Oh and nearly forgot we had another egg today so chucks are obviously happier than mexx
Really feel for you Wendy. Shame Step Change couldn't help you. One tip is to contact creditors and explain situation, detailing your financial position and asking to pay a nominal sum until things are better, and maybe put a stop on interest charges. looking through waitrose offers.
for those that like a good mouthwash.
oral b multi protection mouthwash is £5 and 3 for 2 pyo
so £7 for 3 = £2.33 each only a slight saving over sd which is 2 for £5
but will go towards those con spends and of course you get your paper and coffee0 -

Called in at Laura Ashley today to look at the cushions and the ones I liked were £35 with 30% off........£24.50
I wouldn't be rushed and came home to check the online price....down to £22.05.
I've also found a code for 10% off which works on sale goods. I'm happy to get them under £20 but wondered if anyone's aware of higher discount from anywhere. Click and collect us free.
Now I just have to decide which colour to but red or blue.
Here's the blueand will be picked & packed by my neighbour
I can go to the Outlet shop & check to see if they are cheaper there tomorrow? Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

Oh thank you for all that but don't these mortgage companies charge you a fee for giving you the mortgage.
Arrangement fees and survey/ valuation fee. Some are lower than others. You need to compare the rates with the fees to see which offers the best deal. Sometimes it can be cheaper to take a slightly higher rate with a lower arrangement fee.PartickThistleNil wrote: »Hi emerald.
We last moved about 10 years ago and didn't have to end our mortgage and start afresh, we just got a second small mortgage alongside our original large one.
Things may have changed now though.
Chances are the original large mortgage was transferred to the new property (known as 'porting') and runs alongside the new second small mortgage which may have a different rate. I'm guessing both with the same lender.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
