So eldest son was here overnight as it was cheaper for him to get a flight from Manchester than from Brum and he has left his car here. He went for a drink with his mate last night and they went to Halfords this morning so that kept them amused. He then got the train up to Manchester but ended up on a rail replacement bus :( His GFs dad and step mum are collecting him from the airport when he lands the other side.
GF is in France on a works trip this weekend before flying across and meeting eldest son at her parents - its their 2 year anniversary this week :)

Eldest child is having a pre birthday party tonight with the crowd she hangs out with at home plus a couple from York. Their local wine shop has put on a tasting evening for them - its her BFs 30th birthday this week

Tomorrow she has organised very big birthday surprise for her dad - all he knows is that he is getting the Euston train and she is meeting him there :T

Working? It made it sound like a glitch. I just clicked through to that link and saw the picture of the price with "Buy 1 Get 1 Free":rotfl:. So it will "work" - it will work like the 1Kg carrots can be said to "work" when they go through the till at 43p, because that's what price they are. I imagine the dishwasher tablets will work at least until the shops close today, unless they pull the offer part way through the day:rotfl:. They'll work as long as the offer is still on:doh:.

instore just says £8.99 each no signs about bogof

    What a carry on...

Can you remember that I got a coupon for a £2.50 spend, with the promise of a further surprise once I'd spent it?

Well spend it I did.....the minute the SA scanned it, the till made a loud buzzing noise and then I was overtaken by events

The SA popped open her top to reveal a lilac diamond encrusted bustier, the manager jumped out of the photo booth and handed her a microphone. I'm unsure from where the brass band appeared, but as they struck up their first note, the SA jumped on her chair and started belting out "Dancing Queen".

Who appeared next I can't quite remember. It could have been the fire eater with the string of sausages around his neck or the bearded lady juggling her melons....it was all happening too fast.:rotfl:

Such a good time was had by all:T:T:T

Plus I got a coupon for 200 points with my next spend:T:T

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: you do make me laugh

As for the errant youngest son - well it does not get any better. There is nothing I can do except just accept the situation and not dwell on it.

I sent him a message earlier in the week but I got no reply, I never expect to.
I did though get a "thanks mum" and some photos on Friday night so I suppose that's better than nothing.
I sent down a couple of weeks ago his birthday presents, I know he got the parcel but I don't know what he thought of them. I included a Groupon voucher for a pub close by - steak, sides and beers - as his birthday meal so that was the photos.

Most of the information I get is 3rd hand but he did say a few weeks ago he was moving out of his flat on the 24th. Since then he has been living in his van.

This afternoon OH had a call from errant son - this just never happens and its significant that he never rang me or messaged or emailed etc, just his dad. So I left them to it.
From bits of conversation I did catch I take it the work situation is going very badly.
Also I know that he is flying out on Monday - no idea where the van and his belongings are going or how he has got the time off work or what his money situation is like.
OH has not filled me in on the conversation and I've not asked, no point in getting upset about things I cant do anything about ..

Anything going to log off for tonight as OH is going to do his hairdressing role and then its a Mr T finest meal for 2 tonight with rice and chips :rotfl:
