This is very very hard. Eldest son only went to see his granddad in the care home once and he never went again. I think my three really wanted to remember the fit and healthy granddad who was living in his own home, they didn't want any other pictures in their head. I never forced them, they were all adults and it was their decision and I don't think they carry any guilt or at least not now.
I think if granddad is declining and his mood is very low that is also very hard to take, its as if they give up. My dad went like this in the space of a week and it was devasting

Agree. When my nan went into a home, I never visited. That may seem cold and callous but I didn't want all my happy memories of her replaced by ones of a slow decline.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

I've not been out the door since Thursday and my app was showing I needed 3 more spends on mine, it suddenly showed completed my spends overnight :o. Don't know what's gone on there. Happy to have the points though :D

Went to see Father in Law yesterday. He really is on the decline, he has been given months to live, they cant treat him anymore because his organs cant take it. He has taken the news really badly and barely getting out of bed now :(

Fortunately they have a hospital bed downstairs now but even so he is struggling to move because he is not using his muscles because he wont move, a vicious circle and one he seems to be giving up on.

Now we have to persuade DS to actually go and see them, took DD down there yesterday, she came all the way from Yorkshire to go and see him, but DS and family have been up to Yorkshire to see his in-laws several times since FiL has been ill, but apparently does not have the time to get down to see his grandfather, less than a third of the journey time and less than a day out of their schedule. I could strangle him, he will not turn to his fianc!e and say he really needs to do it, he tends to do as she wants. Right now I am not happy with him.
Sorry to read thisxx , perhaps he want to remember him like he was?

    I don't think I am either!

Mum playing up and I suspect we may have to move her into a home. She is terrified of that. She suggested it herself a year ago and I did some research and found something perfect near me. Then her 'friends' told her that all places are terrible...
There are some nice places about, hope you find something suitable xx

    Hi Guys

Thank you very much for you replies. I collected them, all ten of them!!
I was not entirely sure what I was doing so if they only work out at 80/90p then All is not lost. I will keep a couple for me and donate the rest to local women's aid refuge, they are always looking for stuff.

I will let you know if they compare when I check just after one o'clock.
I will just have to pay more attention when the next glitch crops up, at least I'm not majorly out of pocket.

THanks again ladies for the help:o
They might be ready before then, just keep checking, also sometimes take longer:(

    Morning again

Just making my list and notice that the Balshen biscuits on shopmium are 60% off when you buy 4 and open to all supermarkets Free are at Sains

Asda and T's are £1.00 according to MSM so 40p for a pack is good

There was a free pack of milk from Sainsbob and a free pack of any variety from any retailer but they have removed the second one. It doesn't even show as closed or as "receipts need to be dated/timed before xx:xx on dd/mm"
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen
