Re the National Trust, if you are a member you get into their properties free of charge. The Scottish Trust is cheaper and does let you into the English ones free too, BUT it does not afaik allow you to use the car parks free and that is potentially a problem.
Hope this helpsSnootchie Bootchies!0 -

My sister had a meeting in London today and then had to catch a train to Birmingham ( she is on tour catering for a Pink Floyd tribute band called brit Floyd) and when she got to Euston she said it was chaos. No trains going further than Birmingham but no times on the board. As soon as one was announced she said it was bedlam. Luckily she can run fast and managed to get a seat. However people kept squeezing on untll the police had to come and restore order. Train then only went as far as Milton Keynes and a taxi to Birmingham was £95.00. Luckily she found another 3 people to share with at the taxi rank!!0

We have a blackboard in the kitchen (refuse to call them chalkboards, sorry) where we write the things we need when next shopping. There were a few things on it so I thought 'What the heck' do a c&c and go for the hair erasers!!
We haven't been bothered by Doris too much, but the C&c place is well exposed and on high ground. The check in machine I pulled up to wouldn't work, was going to change to another but another car pulled up so I had to press 'help' Poor little bloke eventually trudged out in the sleet, I gave him my order number then he eventually trudged back with my order. Oh dear, the razors were in stock, very strange as none in the shop yesterday! Smug person in other car had then sailed off.
The upside was, given the weather I didn't have to make up a story about why I needed 4 razors! Downside is I still can't check APG even though it said 'collected'by the time I got home. It is so long since I did a C&C I can't remember what is usual.
DH had a rumage through the shopping asked why I had had bought a razor, well no dear, I have bought 4. Too complicated to explain!!
Off to finish off the 'homemade' fish pie... this domestic godessing is much harder than work!0
