Yes the winds bad here. The Asda sign is nearly off and they have blocked the entrance .

Good afternoon all. Hope all are safe and well.

It has been horrendous here. Left home at 8 for work, found one part of my usual route blocked and coned-off due to fallen tree, so had to go a very long way round instead. Called to collect my new specs on way back and couldn't get out of the car straight away due to the gusts - I could feel the wind actually moving the car a bit, so I waited a few minutes. Just as well, as the shop front two doors down lost its entire fascia boards and the perspex lighting box with its name on that stretches the length of the shop front - all that came tumbling down onto the pavement. Then down the road from that, a tree had leaned right over and gone into a first floor flat taking all the brickwork out from the corner to the window and some of the roof.

On the roads coming home I've seen several piles of tree trunk sections from where they've had to cut trees up to clear the roads.

Just been told they had to close L/pool docks due to gusts of around 100mph, I can see the docks from here, so this area has taken a real battering while I was out.

It's meant to blow itself away by teatime, here's hoping.
