Loving the nostalgia posts. Feel old as remember most things. .

Someone mentioned cassettes , ds2 has a player in his car. I remember showing him how to tape fron the radio but people kept coming in and talking and ruin it .

One of our first cars had an eight track

DD was given a Pannetone for Xmas from work. Opened it last night - she doesn't like it but Mum does ;) - yum yum
  • Good morning all, cold and wet here, though I don't think it is doing anything at the moment.

I set up a Tesco current yesterday but as I went through the system it shut down on me so I had to start again. I then made a second attempt and got almost through but then it shut down again so I gave up, annoyed.
But thinking about it afterwards I thought it must actually have gone far enough through the system and then I got a text to say it was up and running :D

So today I tried to transfer money into it but it bounced back. I didn't realise you have to wait until the debit card arrives and then activate it before you can transfer in.

Ive also rung them and none of the numbers on saynoto0870 website work so i had to use the 0845 number :(

Time before last when we renegotiated with Virgin we managed to get free calls to 0845 numbers thrown in, about 100 minutes a month. Don't use it much but very useful when we go.

I had one of those and used to plug it into my first computer to dave programmes!

The computer used the TV as a screen and the tape recorder as a disk drive. Made a screeching noise as it loaded programmes, written in primitive languages like BASIC.

Doubt my A level in computing would be much use now. As my kids say, "you mean there was a time when the web didn't exist? How is that even possible?"

I still have my Vic 20 upstairs, saved hard and bought it myself when I was 16, used to spend ages writing little programs on it.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
