Emerald, I would definitely send them an email, you never know they might give you some free credit if you explain all the problems you have had.
On a different note.....I recently had a monthly saver account mature, and the interest should have gone onto the account on 31st December. This did not happen, and on the 3rd January I contacted the bank to ask why the interest still had not gone onto the account. They said there was an error and they would rectify it asap. The interest did go onto the account on 6th January. I did email them, as it was the principle, not the fact that I lost some pennies. Anyway, they have replied and asked me if £50 in compensation is acceptable....I have accepted

When I first had my First Direct account the £125 did not go in automatically so I rang them up and it was added on the same day , I wished now I had written instead and asked for compensation as well ...:D

I always think you get a better response when you complain in writing....email, facebook, or tweets seem better than phone imo
