I have to drop DH at work tomorrow morning, which gives me a rare opportunity to visit an Aldi. Is there anything I should be looking out for please? I also pass a W on the way home, so may have to pop in there too :)

take numerous bags for life, masses of Aldi stuff is fabulous :)

cheese - both the standard big cheddar lumps and specialities
part bake baguettes/rolls- 4s for 45p or bags of 12
    bottled water -17p
    pet food
tuna flakes 45p - ok for sandwiches
cheese garlic bread - frozen, good for late night snack
dry cure bacon - goes great with part bakes
    bananas 69p
    peppers
    frozen fruit 2 versions £1.59
    chicken gougons - yummy
frozen chicken breasts - go for the more expensive ones good for pasta bakes and currys
Christmas fudge - salted caramel is gorgeous
wrapping paper - both the normal 99p and the posh rolls for 3.99
carva fizz in a gold bottle for £5
    frozen peas
granola bars - as good as nature valley
    packs of 6 crisps
    hazelnut chocolate
    cherry liquers
really nutty muesli and the berry version

Today I signed up to be a befriender, whilst doing so I heard so many tales that broke my heart...a 90 year old lady on her own,no family and sits on the bench outside the doctors in the hope that someone will stop and speak to her :( can I suggest that if anyone has 1 hour to spare a week that they look in to their local befriending service because that one hour could really make a huge difference in someone else's life x

:T:T:T well done you and that is so so sad:(

That is a great idea, and most people have elderly neighbours which they could befriend.

I'll just add their mince pies are really good and have won tasting awards, the chocolate liqueurs are as good as MS, the scampi is also good, the cooked sliced beef is excellent, and the flowers are great value and last well.

My DB's ex GF was German and he could never understand why people in this country used to sniff at Aldi, as over there she said they were held in very high regard especially at Christmas.

They're building a new one on one of my main daily routes, I'm looking forward to it opening.

A husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, “You Can Be The Man Of Your House.”

He stormed to his wife in the kitchen and announced, “From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is law.

You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I’m finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous dessert. After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will have the kind of fun that I want.

Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax. You will wash my back, towel me dry, and bring me my robe. Then, you will massage my feet and hands.

Then tomorrow, guess who’s going to dress me and comb my hair?”

The wife replied, “The funeral director would be my first guess.

I have no sun products at all, so I know nothing about any of them:rotfl:.

I would (probably) expect the Trizone toothbrush to scan at £67, as I think that was on an offer recently (nationwide) and then went up to £67. Probably £35.

The other that I can see there looks like it's one of the items on nationwide RTC - but it just shows, again, that items on national RTC can be found on cheaper RTC prices marked down on a store specific basis. So, everyone have a look for national RTC items in your store as you may find them cheaper. What's the 'Was' price on that £4.50 toothbrush? TIA.

I will be back later, to update the list - although, whether the low amount of change in M will encourage me to update it sooner or put it off remains to be seen. It is, however, goodbye for now:).

Evening luvlies, off for a catch up of today's posts. Savvy, I didn't notice the RTC toothbrush price but will make a point of checking when I'm in store tomorrow :)
