Bought some of this foil today, only when I started the claim process I saw it says you have to send them the promotional 'flash' off the box.
Mine is just a regular box of the non-stick foil.
I didn't realise this before, but will send it off anyway - hope I get the refund.
Not caught up yet, just wanted to jump in. I did the same yesterday, my A defo had the flashed boxes on shelf for £4 but I must have picked up one with normal packaging. I went back in a few hours later and bought another flashed box as there are actually 2 yellow flashes on them, one on the front and one on the side. I've now submitted a second application to mil's address. Thanks to OP:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -
Evening folks
We're going out for my brother's birthday tomorrow after Star Wars and he says he doesn't want to go to Beefeater again  Is he really my brother?!? :rotfl:
He wants to go to a restaurant that is part of the Mitchell and Butlers chain and I'm struggling to find discounts I can take advantage of
Is anyone in the AA that uses the 20% off? I was wondering, how strict is the need to show your membership card?
TIA
I have used my AA card discount lots of times and have never been asked to show my membership card. You have to log in to the member area on the AA website and find the discount page. It produces a QR code that they scan at the till. Discount comes off food and drink.:hello: Danigrace :hello:0 -

Great, thanks. That's what I was hoping for
Now I just have to find someone I know with AA membership who doesn't mind forwarding me their QR code.Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
TrulyMadly wrote: »Is that on the bottom shelf savvy:rotfl:
We are reaching to the bottom:eek:, but, no, it's just the freezer containers so not really on a shelf at all. The freezer is, of course, placed at ground level, not like it is above any shelving or anything:rotfl:, and the store isn't on a first floor though, how many metres above sea level it is someone can surely find out:rotfl:.
And, for anyone wondering why I use such a small store. It may be a small store but it has the absolute vital extra ranges of items that I need to have - it's the closest store to me, as far as I am aware, that has the Gino's Chicken Nuggets and Popcorn Chicken, the Ayumi range of hair care products, all three Sympli Quick products, a good number of Taj products, the Tsing Tao samosas and the Port Royal Jamaican Patties - only one other store in another area currently has these products for me (though there are a couple farther away that I can go to, but obviously not as often) - and a substantial range of world foods items - few of which are in any other store available to me to check, unless an odd one makes a random appearance in one of my nearby stores on a single day only and then is not seen again for six months:rotfl:. The Gino's Battered Chicken Nuggets, but not the Breaded Chicken Steaks or Popcorn Chicken, so no use on the full range, especially as M does apply different prices to different ones, did make an appearance in a store much nearer to me and stayed there for a few months until they sold out and, of course, I have not seen them there ever since. So, I do need this "small" store - none of the big ones in this area have any of these ranges for me. With the Royal Rassomalia now vanishing from a single nearby store that had it, the store (alternating with another in a different part of the country) will now come into use on that too. It's no good me just having the Royal Gulabjam:rotfl:. It's absolutely vital for probably twelve different ranges of products that often I have in no other store and, when I pick a set of stores that don't have the Dina bakery products, vital on those too.0 -
I did try for the crisps in T at about this time yesterday, but came up against a fundamental problem in my store - namely that they did not have the product at all:(. They never have any of these good items in my nearby stores!:rotfl: So, I did try again at a couple of other Ts whilst en route to Ms - only to find the veg. on 39p including the potatoes:(. Frown for me, as I've just bought some 12.5Kg potatoes from M - I had thought the potatoes were quite good, to get on their last date at a lower price. However, I've changed my view now and I'm no longer happy that I bought them at £2.50:eek:. Not only did I see another M today with £2.49:(, it turns out that that was a bit of an overpayment! I could have had 5x 2.5Kg bags from T at £1.95! Unfortunately they were not available when we needed them on Monday night but, for the one meal:( that we got out of them, 55p seems quite a lot! I could have had a further 2.5Kg of potatoes and had money left over:eek:. Sadly they are of no use to me now as we now have enough potatoes and, by the time they run out, the offers will no longer be running.
I was going to buy the veg. on 39p on an APG shop but unfortunately I don't think Redmere Farms will be comparable - the only one that seems comparable is the Cauliflower. One item for the sake of 3.9p:( - I might as well just buy it, with the other non-potato items, in T - it would have been good for spending wombles with if it weren't reduced to a single item.aldi has them all starting from Sunday for 19p!
However, what are the weights on the versions in Aldi? This information could be crucial as it will make the difference between whether T is better or Aldi at 19p. I might buy in Aldi if they are at least as good price per Kg. as T:rotfl:.
As for the crisps...
I visited T during the day - the first T also no trace:(. I tried a second store later in the day - from the updates on hotdeals, I now understand that the Walkers crisps would have been off even if I had found them as they were already not scanning at all by the time I would have been instore. I did not find them at the second store of the day either and there the trail would have ended, except that... :DI managed to go one better and found some T own label 30 pack Variety pack crisps on the RTC shelf at 50p!:T:T:j So much for me and my 35p 6 pack crisps on RTC shelves in M earlier in the year:rotfl:. So, although they are not Walkers, I got a good number of packets for a cheaper cost. So, I saved 50p there compared to what I would have spent and equivalent to ending up overpaying on the potatoes by 5p and getting 10 fewer bags of crisps.
I also got home and discovered that an entire multipack of a remaining three packets of crisps had been consumed:(:eek:. I was hoping that at least two packets might have lasted until Christmas:(. I would have shouted at them "That's not on!" had I not got my multipack from T - we would have had no crisps now at all! I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and therefore happened to visit the right T. Quite a good BB date on them as well - not even short dated or anything. This is, quite obviously, not a store near to me at all as my nearby stores never have anything good on the RTC shelves!
The crisps were not all - there were also several packs of cereal, that are really good given that my cereals at home were diminishing - again, just simply slightly damaged boxes, the products inside totally fine, and they've knocked them down and put them onto store specific RTC! I got some Rice Krispies 510g at 56p:D. A couple of boxes of a Special K cereal were each priced at 80p - the best we've had since they made an error on a 3 for 2 offer at T ages ago and charged 66p or thereabouts per box! There was also a box of Weetabix 48:D cereal at 84p! I was quite happy with that given that value range cereals at 69p/75p are 24 pack. And also excellent given that some people here need their branded:( cereal.
Those were the entire lot of the cereals on the shelf but, with me running low, I got them all! So, with the crisps, that was £3.50:eek: that I never intended to spend:rotfl: - but all the items obtained at very good value (that is until anyone reports some far better price elsewhere:doh::rotfl::rotfl:).0 -
The Christmas shops may be quite busy, however it is very light as regards the price changes in M. It's mostly the same as Monday, although the Portion cucumber has gone up for a second time in recent weeks - now 25p:(. At that, it really seems out of the question now and I will delete it off, particularly as T is 24p.
However, depending on the time of day at which the price collectors collect the prices, this could still pick up 22p for M (price increase from previous price before that) as the 25p price was a late change in the day for me - coming across it only in later stores. It is 25p (scanned). The APG last time seemed strange to me as it looks like they got the increased price for the Salad Tomatoes 6 pack yet compared against the old £1.25 price for the White Potatoes:huh: (no good:rotfl:;)) - they had expired on Monday and gone to £1.76 in M!
I don't know if I've solved a conundrum now, about fresh fruit & veg. often not being picked up for M - but I notice that the labels in M on a lot of fruit/veg. are "offer labels", as opposed to "SELs" (that is the smaller labels with BCs on - may need a BC to pick up a price for the APG, even though BCs themselves contain no price information). A lot of the fruit/veg. I know notice:doh: (only now, after five years:o:rotfl:) has "offer"-type labels displayed, rather than having any small BC SELs underneath the big labels - therefore I believe, if they just have the big labels in all the price collection stores, they may get no price. You can find SELs (which is what I refer to as the smaller labels with names of product and BCs on them) on some fruit & veg. but usually in smaller stores (and I suspect the APG won't choose a small store, as they'll want stores with a big range - they do select their stores with an attempt to pick up as much a range as possible).
I noticed the lack of SEL (but just an "offer-type" label/card) as the Portion Cucumber that I had in stock in one of my stores (to explain, the product itself has been thin on the ground for me in the last two days - you wouldn't have known this - it was absent entirely from my first store on Monday, quite unusually - it's very unusual for me to have this item as a carryover to a second store - and not finding much stock anywhere then - but I did manage to get price indication, and therefore a price, in one store and so did get the product for the list on Monday) - I had stock of the Portion Cucumber in a late store now but had to check its real price as it conflicted with the old 22p that I was getting earlier in the day. Has it really gone up? I think. It seemed so - as it seemed Whole Cucumber was now 50p (when seen in the later store). I think that has increased too in M! So, with T putting lower prices on some veg., M seems to be going the other way:(. Anyway:rotfl:. I went to scan Portion Cucumber, to get its price, but found their was no BC on the product at all. Of course, you can just go to the SS and select from the veg. items and put in "Portion Cucumber" and it comes up with the price for you.
But, maybe, the lack of BC is why the APG doesn't pick up some items sometimes. Plus Wrexham 'never' having any price labels for cucumbers when the price changes:rotfl:. (I've no idea - didn't visit there this time, and it might not be a collection store anyway - but Wrexham do seem to be boogers as regards no price showing for cucumbers - on two separate occasions, spaced in time several months apart, I have found no price showing for Cucumber at Wrexham.) Maybe they need more than a price label but need BCs on items to pick them up for the APG? I noticed the Loose Garlic had just a 30p label (no "SEL") in my store (where I started looking at this matter) - maybe that's why it was N/A for a long time although it has been picking up a price on the APG again more recently.
This is doubtless another Savvy theory that will be shot down and proven to be wrong again at some future point! Just like I though Leamington was where online's information came from - but it doesn't seem to relate to that store at all and I can't work out which store, if any, online does relate to. Perhaps it just relates to what they can supply from their online warehouse, and doesn't relate to a physical 'store', that customers can visit, at all - but, again, that's another theory itself now:rotfl:.
The most part of the change in M is that there is some change on the Dettol 84 wipes, and a correction or change to make on the Mr Muscle 2 in 1 Bathroom/Toilet cleaner as no stores at all had £1 now - I'm told they're £2 - there may either have been an incorrect price showing on Monday (in the one store whose SEL didn't cause me to question it) or the product has now gone up in M - it's Avs S at £1:eek:. (It may be the way I collect prices - I got £1 on Monday, in a second store that I thought was showing a new offer that the first hadn't put up. I then had no cause to check that in further stores. On Wednesday, I had £2 and was then checking in subsequent stores to see if the £1 was 'still on' - but, this time, different stores, never encountered a £1 SEL - I had constant £2 and, yes, carried it over into all six stores, looking for the £1 price to be showing in any of them, preferably to be showing an expiry date and for that date to be in the future. I just had £2 each time. Finally, I did a price query at the till.)
There's always more than I mention here but, this time, it is very little. It would have been two sides of paper (so, one page) except that I had to write out the carryover items again in order to make clear what I still had left - and then I went a few more stores, in the end four sides (two pages) - one side completely duplicating the carryover list that I had and the other not very full. So, really it's about a side and a half of A4 paper:):T:cool:. I'm waffling:rotfl: - it's not too relevant (...is 'waffle' ever 'relevant'?), but, in short, not much has changed and it's mainly turned out to be a check to see that the prices I'm been shown have not changed. There's a Bernard Matthews Sweet & Smokey Chicken Tenders product (280g) that I now have as showing £1. However, it is completely absent from four of my stores so some of you may look in vain in your M:rotfl:!
I also had the 400g Chestnuts showing £1.78. I had £2 offer and 3x £2.79 full price on Monday, although they were £1.78:rotfl:. I have revisited some stores that I visited on Monday. I had the Chestnuts in some of them on Monday, in all those that I have duplicated now, they are now completely absent of the product:rotfl:. However, I have found them in another place, and now actually showing the £1.78!
I can also confirm that M do have Pringles Pigs in Blankets (as well as Pringles Xmas Turkey - although the SELs (I think incorrectly:D) call it Roast Turkey - M do/did have Roast Turkey version as well, as this was a different Pringles that went onto £1 RTC several months ago:rotfl:). They are each at £1 in M. T is 99p on standard "Pringles", however it appears that T do not have Roast Turkey. Roast Turkey ought to be Avs M at £1 if the RTC is still around, but the price collectors will highly likely not have it (and, indeed, I haven't seen it for a couple of months) but they might pick up the Xmas Turkey price (my M says Pringles Roast Turkey 190g £1) as the Roast Turkey and compare against that. (May be a long-shot having any Turkey version at all in their Ms I don't know:think:.) Pringles Pigs in Blanket should be Avs T 99p. I may in fact be wrong and Roast Turkey and Xmas Turkey could be one and the same - the cartons have clearly different designs, however the BC - I didn't get any details when I saw the Roast Turkey on RTC two months ago - may be the same.

Do we really pay less for Pringles than potato crisps?
Is an M Aspen Pine Christmas Tree 3ft at £10 any good? Not that I had any of them at all but got a price label there - couldn't see any of 3ft ones there, but that's what I have got. Let It Snow Candy Canes Peppermint (144g) are now 75p but Poundstretcher, on some other pack size maybe, or somewhere else, might work out cheaper - and of course they will all be cheaper after Christmas. Otherwise, not much, except...
I have some RTC items for M Warrington again:
Avent 2 Slow Flow Natural Teats 49p
Calgon Express Ball Tablets 15 pack - just one on the shelf, may have gone, but I pushed it behind something else just to try to keep it there a little longer 99p
M Beach Spade 9p
Good Boy Puppy/Small Dog Collar & Lead Set - one is at 25p
BBQ Fork:D 49p (I knew they would still be around:rotfl:. To explain, I have not been finding many gardening items in stores now. However, I have kept items on the list - and, yes indeed, one of them, just like this one, now turns up - a single item - in a random store. So: they are not widespread like they used to be in nearly every store but now you'll end up with one item from a range in a rare store and, overall, in total, in sum, therefore, I believe that "M in total" has all of the range somewhere, although it's now largely just one item in a small number of stores).
Vileda 1-2 Spray Refill, fwiw, 19p
M Piping Nozzles 5p
England Flag Balloon (that's my description of it, as there's just a couple of the product there and no description on any label or anything) 25p
There may be some deicer cans as well, missing their caps.
Lebara Triple Sim, fwiw, 5p
Of coursehampydoodums wrote: »Oh, went to Morries earlier and all their sun block from the summer was RTC to £1.50-£2.50, some down from £16. Also picked up a couple of new electric toothbrushes, loads of these on the RTC shelf in the toiletries section. Although price marked for £20 they scanned at £67  so sa had to over ride them. On my way in to the store I checked my emails waiting for DH at the ATM, one from Morries offering 5,000 more points on a £40 spend if I activated the link in the email. Came in right handy with these
I have no sun products at all, so I know nothing about any of them:rotfl:.
I would (probably) expect the Trizone toothbrush to scan at £67, as I think that was on an offer recently (nationwide) and then went up to £67. Probably £35.
The other that I can see there looks like it's one of the items on nationwide RTC - but it just shows, again, that items on national RTC can be found on cheaper RTC prices marked down on a store specific basis. So, everyone have a look for national RTC items in your store as you may find them cheaper. What's the 'Was' price on that £4.50 toothbrush? TIA.
I will be back later, to update the list - although, whether the low amount of change in M will encourage me to update it sooner or put it off remains to be seen. It is, however, goodbye for now:).0 -
