I'm not sure you are right about affect and effect - I could well be wrong though.
No, you are right.
The basic difference between them is that affect is chiefly used as a verb. Its main meaning is ‘to influence or make a difference to’, as in the following example sentences, all of which are taken from the Oxford English Corpus:- Research suggests that the neighbourhood you live in can affect how well your children perform at school.
- The long periods of separation never affected her love for her mother.
- Continuous rain since mid-June has resulted in widespread flooding, affecting over 119 million people.
- He is in no doubt that thousands of people will be seriously affected if this proposal becomes a reality.
- It was clear that the strong windy conditions were going to have an immediate effect on the result of the game.
- The beneficial effects of exercise are well documented.
- Corporations need to think about the long-term effects of their actions.
- The legislation had the effect of pushing up the cost of houses.
- The couple had been separated for two years, but her boyfriend tried to effect a reconciliation.
- A Royal Commission appointed in 1906 effected several reforms.
- Governments can mobilize the political will and resources to effect change when they choose to.
- A bout of rheumatic fever in his youth had affected his health throughout his life.
- Participants were asked to volunteer for a study looking at the effects of stress on their health.
However, it all depends on what is meant by SSM's original statement that 'Tesco's own products do not effect the BG'
If she means that in a mixed shop, own-brand items do not influence the BG, then it should be affect.
But in the context of a shop consisting entirely of own-brand items, it could well be correct to say effect, as a trolley full of own-brand items will not bring the BG into being.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Now, have I missed something?:rotfl: I'm just looking at some laundry capsules and I have the Bio and non-Bio versions from M. But - do M have the Colour version? I'm just going to click on it on msm to see if they have...:eek::eek::rotfl:
(I'm doing well, or alright at any rate - I didn't have Fudco Mince in my stores on Wednesday - sadly the 'world foods' store I used had the Soya (at incorrect full price SEL but I checked and got the correct price:D;):p:rotfl:) but didn't have the Mince this time. I thought that I had not got it at all:eek: or had failed to take its price:eek::eek: from Monday - however, :pI see that I have got the item and it is on 90p offer until 27th December. So I do have it! Far better than TBG:rotfl:.)
EDIT:
:j:j
M N/A:D, only T has this one art £6! Apparently:rotfl:.

Not happy - and no excuse for their own system to fail if it does - I demand and require that they price match M as claimed:p.
They should always pick everything (branded grocery) up in order to ensure that people never pay more. Or they should cease making that claim.
They should pick every branded grocery item up at and the correct competitor price on every occasion without exception and I expect and require that they do so! Otherwise, the claim "never" cannot be true.
They are a major supermarket, the biggest in the country, with huge resources behind them. There is therefore no excuse, especially on something so routine and commonly bought as Pringles. It's just unacceptable if they are not able to do so.
Very true. I know the obvious thing is to contact Mr T HQ if the pringles price was not picked up byt the BG machine but I try to keep as low a profile as I can... I have no self control regarding pringles so I would not even have the option of taking them back for a refund
Which is why I am avoiding Morrisons as much as I can until they take the pringles offer off“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Can be best going when they are £1 offer as there could be slightly damaged (but fine) packs in the store on RTC shelf at even cheaper prices! I got 35p last time (but then had about 19 stores no trace of RTC Pringles at all so really not much chance). I have no problem avoiding the Pringles at £1 as £1 is way too expensive for them for me!:rotfl:
We must have a lot of self-control in my house. Although we have used one carton, of Ready Salted which is pretty bog standard, rather than the enticing flavours that are mre of a treat and therefore 'worth more', we still have three cartons left for this Christmas that were bought at £0 when that A glitch was on probably years ago:rotfl:!:T
Even contacting T and getting a refund does not rectify the matter and never can do so in my view. They claim "never pay more". If anyone ever does so, then they have done so and that has happened and nothing thereafter at all can ever alter, rectify or remove the fact that they had paid more. There is no way of changing what had actually happened in the past or removing or deleting the fact that that had happened. They still paid more, regardless of whether T later gives a refund or not! So, I'm still not satisfied even there:rotfl::rotfl:. As nothing they can do can ever change such a thing.
So, under my high standards, and nigh-on impossible to meet them I would have thought - but then they choose to make a claim and don't have to do so - I would require that no-one ever pays more. Full stop. Once they have, then the standard is breached and nothing can rectify or put right that breach. Even refunding the entire shopping and 'taking back' the entire transaction cannot remove the fact that they still paid more for it in the first place!:rotfl: So, literally nothing can stop it or change it once it's happened. I require that it never happens. Which is... :doh:actually what they claim.
They could give me a million pounds but I would still have paid more in the first place, so I am still not happy:rotfl:! There is nothing they can do, if it has happened, to satisfy my standard ever. I require them to do the impossible and time-travel to a time before I even begun the transaction at all. "Well, we can't do that, it's impossible!" "Well, it's still no good!:p"0 -
Are the happy small shoppers back home yet?
. Nah, it'll be too early :rotfl: :rotfl:
There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0
