Just had my confirmation for this weeks JL event on Thursday.

I'm going with my SIL, she has just split up with her partner, so free glass of fizz will be a nice treat. :D

Neither of us will be driving I wonder whether they will notice if we have another. :rotfl:

If not we will have to make sure we try all the other offerings. :rotfl:

Ah thanks TM, were they the same denomination? Big word for me I know.

I received a £8 wys £40 on my first shop. I gave her that and my £6 wys £30 and the till would only accept one.

My £30 T shop isn't very exciting....basically my Orchard cake and vouchers. Just remembered I've got a £1.50 Freixinet one today....off t check how much it is in A.....saw curly warning about alcohol:o

Your shop was fab Fernie....did you get yours delivered Di?

I was chewed to bits yesterday sal.....such a waste of good ingredients. Those glitchy Whitworth raisins were as big as grapes:)

My £6 Orchard vouchers came today. I can spend it on cakes:) Mr TM suggested I just buy one. But no....I won't be defeated. Next weekend it is......round three:)

    Oh yes got a £4 off wys £30 T T today:)

Can anyone see a plan unfolding?:D

Do you tie newspaper round your tin while the cake is cooking? I tie some round mine, higher than the top of the tin, I don't know if it is a valid practice but I do it because mum always did, it is meant to stop it burning and I have never burned one yet :D

This is the first year they've "caught" E:o

I double line them and put a double layer of greaseproof on top with a little hole. I then wrap a couple of sheets of newspaper around the outside about 2inches higher than the cake tin.

The trouble is that there's no temperature dial on my oven, it's not usually a problem as I know the timings for stuff I do regularly but a big cake is an unknown. I had a feeling that the oven was a bit hot when I put it in and should have followed my instincts:o

One of my bottles was Haig Club Clubman £15. Not the expensive £35 version, I haven't seen the Clubman before but I thought was a nice gift for a change. Plus with my negotiated coupon. .........
