I'd second that. Fish may slowly oxidise due to their unsaturated fats, and might be not be acceptable but that would probably take many years to happen, but most stuff in your freezer should just be rotated into your kitchen freezer and eaten once defrosted and cooked thoruoghly.
We used to have a 9-drawer freezer. Really miss it now!

We tend to wait until we have defrosted things to see how it looks/smells etc before cooking. Only once have we chucked something away and that wasn't particularly old it was fish from the deli and I hadn't realised it was whole fish. :o Stunk to high heaven once defrosted so it went in the bin. :(

So lessoned learned whenever I get any fish RTC in those white bags from the deli counter now we unpackage it and either use straight away or separate and freeze. :)

Always cook a bit longer than maybe we usually cook fresh fish too. ;)
  • Speak about waste. I received an order from SD this morning, 2 boxes.
This is the contents of one of them:

    Throw out

Honestly mrsmac stuff keeps much longer than you think. :o We had trout fillets in the week and I'm not sure if they were 2013 or 2015 honestly. :o:o I think we ate the 2013 ones but the freezers got a bit mixed up when we moved them out to the garage earlier this year. We did eat salmon from 2013 last year. :rotfl:

I finally finished those 2013 cup a soups yesterday. :D I probably have more out in the garage though. :o

Honestly it only bits and pieces :) Can I pleeeease keep my badge Insert rolling smillie

DH has thrown in open packets of stuff , bits of leftover meals but we have no idea what they are but its are not enough for one meal

I need to batch cook as I like a proper meal at night and if DH only has to reheat that's my easiest option I also love the rtc chicken in foil meals as DH thinks he has made the meal

Well I had been putting it off, trying on the dress I hoped to wear this evening to the charity ball.

And it fits. :j:j:j Not sure what I would have worn if it didn't. :rotfl:

It's this one that I nearly wore to my 50th last year...

    161bx29.jpg

One of my bargains for £10 when after getting my inheritance I bought a few more dresses than I should have. :o Along with a few others I haven't worn yet. :o:o

Last time I wore more of a cocktail dress to the charity ball but almost everyone else was in ball gowns, but I'm just too short under 5" to carry one off plus the expense of getting a petite one. Anyway this dress says it is a prom dress but it's not got those ridiculous net underskirts for someone of my age. ;) Meant to be just below the knee so midi type but on me is perfect as a just above the ankle maxi dress.

Now to decide which shoes to wear, reckon I might get to wear some fairly low gold ones to jazz it up, another impulse buy I have never worn either. :o Don't think I should go too high with my knee and foot still under repair. :rotfl:

    Lovely dress Enjoy your night

I'm still not convinced, but you know me. :p

Certainly not worthy of losing your badge over it though. :rotfl:

I'm so lucky Mr TS is such a good cook, with the mishmash of stuff I bring into the house. :o Otherwise I might have been joining you throwing out Mrsmac as I don't have a clue with half the things I buy. :rotfl:

Possibly a weight thing then but still ridiculous.
