Good afternoon
I am finding the frugal experiences very interesting..not boring.
I can imagine that for people who have to do it all the time and without backup of a good store cupboard would end up with a very boring and bland diet of pasta, bread and rice.
Very little protein and fresh fruit and veg unless they had a garden or allotment.
Mind you looking at wombles most of them have snack food on them which years ago nobody would be buying and is where most of the money is spent.
Did anyone else see the TV show a few years back when Michael Portillo had to live on a single mother's income for a week. I think he found it very difficult and said how boring it would be to live like that all the time. He also had to do her jobs as a teaching assistant and at Asda and look after her kids.
I'm sort of half-heartedly joining in by trying to eat out of the freezer as much as possible. Last night I found some quite old 90% beefburgers that cost 30p so we had meatballs and pasta.

Anyone ordering from M&S sale careful as the prices are going up at checkout.
I had added couple little bits for Teeny from kids sale trousers £2 and tshirt and leggings £6 and when I went to checkout there was a message saying sorry but highlighted items had increased in price and both were £2 more expensive. Removed from basket straightaway!
Never had that happen before items still show cheaper price so I tried again but once they are in your basket it increases.
Oh well at least I get to keep my frock on.
There are lots of kids school stuff showing £2 but double check before you pay...
I collected a dress for granddaughter yesterday, saw m and s banner "now up to 60%" off onlie, checked dress and its gone up by £2 (was of course going to rebuy if cheaper and return other as we do). Maybe the International IT Tech Squad have been at it again and instead of taking off 10% they've added 10%....mmmmm
Re the cheap fleeces m and s with the 10 or 15 off offer with sparks. I used mine instore yesterday BUT although its crossed out on the offer page online, I could still use it again online....International IT Tech Squad again..thank you:A NI FEIDIR ACH LE DIA BREITHIUNAS A DHEANAMH ORM0 -

Hmm I thought they were delicious and I don't even like dark choc but far too expensive to buy with real money lol xxxWe are many we are one xxx
So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.0 -
Well my 19p unsliced farmhouse loaf bought from Co-op on Sunday rtc, is now looking decidedly artisan, having been hacked at for 3 days. It has been much tastier than many others, makes nice toast, and I topped it with a golden yolked fried egg for breakfast today. I'd buy it again at 19p. (XL eggs - 6 for £1 from butcher - huge improvement on supermarket - were already in fridge.)
Last night was minced beef, roast potatoes, both from freezer, and fresh carrots already in fridge. Have to head to T in a bit for my soya milk. Sadly my local does not stock hipp...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -
