    I got a text from DS who tells me he has been monitoring his email all day...his email came through at 14.33 and did manage to book a table for Monday....he just needs to decide which of his 6 other pod mates he should take.

    He's really embracing this money saving as a student...apparently 5pm is reduction time in his local small T and tonight thanks to the sol link I sent earlier in the week they are all going out for their freebie.

    He hasn't been well this week and its put a bit of a downer on me, I think what with the move and freshers last week he's suddenly realised that he can't burn the candle at both ends...yesterday he phoned and I think we both ended up in tears,I could hardly hear him as his voice is gone,he's really tired and just missing home and it's comforts.
    Guess that's uni life and we all just need to adjust.....

    Sorry to hear you and DS are feeling down, but I can confirm it's 100% normal and to be expected. DS is most likely suffering from the well-known "illness" Freshers Flu, it's everywhere amongst students at this time of year, even those who are no longer Freshers! It's the shock of all the change starting to settle in, too much overdoing things and too little sleep, burning the candle at both ends thanks to new-found freedom, and the realisation that they're grown up which means that mum and dad aren't in the next room if there's a problem. You'll both get used to it soon enough, it just feels a bit pants at first.

    I personally wouldn't rush up there unless you really think he needs you to, as he may well get a good sense of satisfaction from dealing with the issues himself or with friends. My friend went to do her laundry after the first week and found 3 students who were all totally clueless about how to work their washing machines, and they bonded by figuring it out together :)
    Just tell him to get some more sleep (not during lectures ;)) and maybe post him some vitamin c tablets!

    If you have any uni-related issues, please feel free to drop me a PM, having been a student not that long ago and then working in student relations, I may be able to help :)

    Are you sure your station is listed? Seem strange that it would be but none of the local rags have the coupon....... if push comes to shove i'm sure I can stick some coupons in an envelope ;)

    I'm taking part in this one, thanks dave ;)

    I've invited myself and going to spend the weekend at TM's :D:D making sure her B&B service is up to scratch and that she offers eggs four ways ;):D

    I'll let you know my arrival date..............

    Can you give me a bit of notice so I can get the bed aired....hope you don't mind sharing with TS:rotfl::rotfl:

    (I've heard she snores:rotfl::rotfl:)

    Can someone tell me what's happening with train tickets?

    We know it's early, but we wanted to let you know that you can now reserve your Christmas delivery slot for the 23rd December. Why not order your Christmas turkey from WaitroseEntertaining at the same time and tick it off your festive 'to do' list?

    At Waitrose you can amend your order until 11.45am on the day before delivery so don't worry if you haven't planned what you're having this Xmas, just pop in a couple of bottles of Fizz to reserve the slot you'd like. We also have increased cashback this week until Sunday, new customers can earn £10 whilst existing get £4 for each order.

    Minimum spend £100
